Disneyland Resort is preparing to close a current guest transportation area, but its replacement will be ready to keep visitors moving as construction continues.
The change affects guests using shuttle transportation from the Toy Story Parking Area.
Disney has confirmed that the existing Toy Story Lot shuttle drop-off will eventually close. Before that happens, however, Disneyland plans to construct a temporary replacement nearby.
It’s the latest operational change tied to a much larger transformation underway near the eastern side of the resort.
A Replacement Drop-Off Is Coming
Guests parking at the Toy Story Parking Area can currently take a shuttle to the eastern end of the Disneyland Resort Esplanade.
That familiar arrival point won’t remain in its current location.
Disney’s September 2026 construction update confirms that the Toy Story Lot shuttle drop-off will stay within the East Esplanade area but move slightly north. The temporary location will also put arriving guests closer to Harbor Boulevard.
Disney plans to complete construction on the replacement before shifting bus operations.
Once the new temporary area is ready, buses will begin dropping off guests there. The existing location can then close.
That should make the transition less disruptive for visitors. Toy Story Parking Area shuttle service isn’t being eliminated based on the supplied update. Instead, Disney is moving its Disneyland drop-off point to make room for construction.
Disneyland Needs the Existing Space
The current drop-off isn’t closing without a reason.
Disney is working on a major transportation project that will eventually reshape how many guests approach Disneyland Resort.
Construction around the Esplanade includes a new pedestrian bridge connected to a future transportation hub. That hub will replace the Manchester Cast Member parking lot.
Plans call for a new parking structure with around 6,000 parking spaces and 302 EV charging spaces. The transportation center will also have dedicated areas for shuttles and rideshare vehicles.
Security facilities and dedicated traffic access from Disney Way are planned as well.
Disney has already demolished additional ticket booths in connection with the project, and relocating the Toy Story shuttle operation represents another step forward.
For guests, the immediate impact should be much smaller than the scale of the overall project.
Visitors can still park at the Toy Story Parking Area and use shuttle transportation. They’ll simply arrive at a different spot on the eastern side of the resort once the temporary location opens.
Disney hasn’t announced an exact date for that transition in the supplied update, so guests should watch for signage and Cast Member directions during upcoming visits.
The current drop-off’s days are numbered, but Disney is preparing its replacement before shutting it down.
