Disney World Visitors Face Thanksgiving Travel Disruption as Magic Kingdom Sells Out

Families planning to visit Walt Disney World for Thanksgiving have another reason to double-check their vacation plans.

The holiday season is almost here, and Disney World is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors looking to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at its theme parks.

However, one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular holiday celebrations has already reached capacity for a major November date.

That means some travelers hoping to enjoy a special evening in the park may have to adjust their schedules or seek another holiday experience.

With Thanksgiving approaching, here’s what the latest Magic Kingdom sellout means for visitors.

Disney World Sells Out of Magic Kingdom Holiday Tickets

Disney World has officially sold out of admission to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for Wednesday, November 25, 2026.

The date falls immediately before Thanksgiving, which takes place on Thursday, November 26.

Before selling out, tickets for the November 25 celebration cost $209 per adult.

The sellout affects the separately ticketed Christmas party, not regular daytime admission to Magic Kingdom.

Disney has not confirmed that standard Magic Kingdom tickets are sold out for November 25, meaning visitors can still make regular park plans based on admission availability.

However, guests without Christmas party tickets must leave Magic Kingdom when regular operating hours end.

Even Annual Passholders and visitors with Park Hopper tickets need separate admission to attend the nighttime celebration.

For families hoping to spend Thanksgiving week enjoying Disney’s Christmas entertainment, that could create an unexpected scheduling problem.

Why Thanksgiving Visitors Could Face Problems

Thanksgiving week already brings large crowds to Walt Disney World, with families traveling to Orlando during the holiday break.

For some visitors, November 25 may have been the perfect opportunity to enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party before celebrating Thanksgiving the following day.

Others may have planned to spend the afternoon relaxing at their resort before heading to Magic Kingdom for the evening festivities.

Unfortunately, those plans are no longer possible for guests who haven’t already secured November 25 party tickets.

Visitors with limited vacation time may have an especially difficult time finding another date that fits their schedules.

Although Disney still has several Christmas party nights available, attending one could require changing park reservations, rearranging activities, or adjusting travel plans.

Thankfully, guests still have other opportunities to experience the celebration.

Disney World Still Has 14 Christmas Party Dates Available

As of October 20, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets remain available for 14 nights in November and December.

The remaining dates include:

  • November 15, 19, 27, and 29

  • December 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 18

Disney allows party guests to enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m., even though the event officially runs from 7 p.m. until midnight.

That early entry gives visitors additional time to enjoy attractions before the Christmas entertainment begins.

Adult tickets for guests ages 10 and older range from $189 to $229, plus tax.

Children between ages 3 and 9 receive a $10 discount. Eligible Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can also receive discounts on select party nights.

However, availability could change as Thanksgiving and Christmas get closer.

Families interested in attending should review Disney World’s official ticket calendar before finalizing their plans.

What Guests Will Miss During the Sold-Out Party

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers several experiences that make it different from a regular evening at Magic Kingdom.

One of the biggest attractions is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which features Disney characters, decorated floats, and Santa Claus.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary Christmas cookies and seasonal beverages throughout the park.

Frozen Holiday Surprise brings Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff to Cinderella Castle for a special holiday presentation.

Several Magic Kingdom attractions also feature seasonal experiences, including Space Mountain, Jingle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, Mad Tea Party, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Exclusive merchandise, festive snacks, and Christmas decorations complete the celebration.

These experiences help explain why the event remains popular with families visiting during the holidays.

Other Disney World Christmas Celebrations Are Still Available

Fortunately, missing the November 25 Christmas party doesn’t mean visitors have to miss Disney World’s holiday festivities altogether.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins November 27, featuring seasonal food, entertainment, and international Christmas traditions throughout World Showcase.

Disney World’s other theme parks and resort hotels also offer festive decorations, seasonal merchandise, and holiday treats.

Families can explore Christmas displays at many Disney resort hotels without purchasing theme park admission.

Magic Kingdom itself also features holiday decorations during regular operating hours, giving daytime visitors another opportunity to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.

While the November 25 party is officially sold out, regular Magic Kingdom admission is still available.

For families visiting during Thanksgiving week, the latest sellout serves as a reminder that popular holiday experiences can fill up well before their scheduled dates.

And with additional party nights still available, travelers hoping to celebrate Christmas at Magic Kingdom may want to purchase tickets before their preferred date disappears.
