Disney World Vacation Warning Issued for Guests Staying at 10 Hotels in 2027

If you’ve already booked a Walt Disney World vacation for 2027, don’t assume your planning is finished just yet.

It’s time to check that hotel reservation again.

Ten Disney World resorts have confirmed refurbishment projects, maintenance work, or transportation interruptions affecting portions of 2027. With more than 30 hotel properties around Walt Disney World, that’s a sizable portion of the resort lineup.

We’re putting those 10 hotels on an “alteration notice” for 2027.

That doesn’t mean you need to cancel. It does mean some guests may want to change hotels or dates once they see what’s happening during their stay.

Transportation Could Be the Deciding Factor

Guests staying at Pop Century or Art of Animation should pay particularly close attention to January.

The Disney Skyliner will close for refurbishment from January 24 through January 30. Bus transportation will remain available, but that’s not necessarily the experience guests expected when they booked a Skyliner hotel.

For someone choosing Pop Century specifically because of convenient gondola transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, changing dates by a few days could make sense.

Art of Animation presents an additional concern because room refurbishment work is scheduled to begin during 2027.

All-Star Movies also has guest-room work continuing through January, while Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge is expected to undergo room refurbishment through January.

Those are relatively easy problems to avoid if your dates are flexible.

Other Construction Will Continue for Months

That’s not necessarily true elsewhere.

Beach Club’s exterior maintenance is expected to continue through late 2027. Port Orleans Riverside’s guest-room refurbishment stretches through August, while work at Coronado Springs is expected through late September.

Contemporary Resort could also have construction activity for most of the year.

Work there is scheduled in phases through late 2027 and involves select areas, including the Main Tower atrium and Bay Lake Tower.

Then there’s Grand Floridian, where renovations in select areas are scheduled into early 2027.

Guests aren’t losing access to these entire hotels. Still, when you’re paying Disney Deluxe Resort prices, construction noise, obstructed views, or alternate walking routes can become more significant.

BoardWalk Guests Should Check Their Dates

One of the most noticeable 2027 interruptions involves BoardWalk Inn.

Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations are scheduled to close from January 11 through April for maintenance.

Other pools will remain open.

However, families who specifically chose BoardWalk for its feature pool might want to consider another EPCOT-area resort during that window.

And that’s really the point of our warning.

Not every construction project justifies changing a vacation. A blocked walkway probably isn’t enough to send most guests searching for another hotel.

Losing the amenity that convinced you to book that resort is different.

Before making final payments on a 2027 Disney World vacation, check your hotel’s refurbishment schedule against your travel dates.

With 10 resorts already facing some type of interruption, plenty of guests could discover that a small alteration now prevents a much bigger disappointment once they arrive.

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
