Demolition has officially commenced on the former Stage 1 Company Store in Muppets Courtyard. Initial steps involved tearing down store sections, particularly where two cherished Kermit statues once welcomed guests.
While demolition can be seen by guests, construction walls have been erected around the area, limiting visibility.
The announcement of Muppets Courtyard’s closure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios came during Disney’s D23 event in August 2024.
In a bold move, Disney disclosed plans for a new land inspired by Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., set to take over the space previously occupied by Muppets Courtyard.
