Disney World Revamps App and Wait Times – Big Changes for Single Riders!”

Walt Disney World Resort is a place where magic happens every day, but with all that magic comes the inevitable crowds. As Disney’s parks become busier, many guests find themselves spending more time in lines than they expected. To help visitors make the most of their time and enjoy the many attractions Disney has to offer, Disney has introduced a useful tool: the Single Rider Line.

This option, available at select attractions, has been a game-changer for guests looking to skip the long standby lines and enjoy more of what the parks have to offer.

But now, a major update has been made to how Disney handles these Single Rider options, and it’s something that will make navigating the parks even easier for visitors.

What is the Single Rider Line?

For those unfamiliar with the concept, the Single Rider Line allows guests to split up from their party and ride attractions individually, filling empty seats that may otherwise go unused. It’s a great way to minimize wait times and get the most out of your visit, especially on some of the park’s most popular rides.

Currently, a handful of attractions at Disney World offer the Single Rider Line, including:

  • Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (Hollywood Studios)
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (Hollywood Studios)
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios)
  • Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (EPCOT)

Previously, the availability of Single Rider options wasn’t always clearly marked, and guests had to rely on signs or word of mouth to know if they could take advantage of this feature.

But now, Disney has streamlined the process with a major update to the My Disney Experience app and wait time boards throughout the parks.

What’s New?

The recent update means that Disney guests will now be able to see which rides offer a Single Rider option more easily. The wait time boards in the parks now display an “S” next to the rides that participate in the Single Rider Line, making it much easier to spot where this option is available.

This update is also reflected in the My Disney Experience app, where users can quickly check which attractions are offering Single Rider access.

These updates come at a perfect time, especially during peak seasons when wait times can be incredibly long. With this new feature, guests can plan their day more efficiently and spend less time standing in line, giving them more time to enjoy the magic of the parks.

Things to Know Before Using the Single Rider Line

While the Single Rider Line can be a huge time-saver, it’s important for guests to understand how it works. First and foremost, the option allows guests to fill in empty seats, meaning there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to ride with anyone from your party. This is ideal for solo travelers or those who are fine with riding separately from their group.

Additionally, guests using the Single Rider Line must meet all the ride’s requirements, just like those using the regular standby line. Some special seating requests may not be accommodated, and immediate boarding is not guaranteed.

However, the flexibility and convenience it offers are hard to beat, especially during busy times.

Disney’s update also includes more detailed information on the app, providing users with rules and expectations for using the Single Rider Line.

Guests are encouraged to check out the app before their visit to better understand how this system works, which will help them make the most out of their day at the park.

Looking Ahead: Will More Rides Offer Single Rider?

Currently, there are only a few rides at Disney World that offer the Single Rider Line. However, with Disney constantly working to improve the guest experience, it’s possible that more rides will add this feature in the future.

Many guests have expressed hope that other attractions, like Test Track at EPCOT (which previously offered the option before its closure), will bring back Single Rider access once they’re up and running again.

While the Single Rider Line can save a significant amount of time, it’s not always the best option for everyone. For families or groups who prefer to ride together, it may not be ideal, as you’ll be split up.

However, for solo adventurers or those who don’t mind riding separately, it’s a fantastic way to maximize your time in the parks.

So, next time you’re planning your day at Walt Disney World, be sure to take advantage of this helpful tool. With the new updates to the app and the wait time boards, navigating the parks just got a whole lot easier. Happy adventuring!
