The countdown has officially started for a group of Disney World guests.
For a limited time, eligible Disney Vacation Club members have access to a collection of special benefits they won’t normally find during an ordinary trip. Free snacks, major restaurant discounts, character encounters, PhotoPass sessions, and other extras are all part of the lineup.
There is just one problem: Disney isn’t giving members very long to enjoy them.
The 2026 Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Weeks celebration ends August 26. Once it wraps up, its 12 limited-time benefits will leave with it.
That gives members visiting over the next month an opportunity to make their vacation a little different—and potentially a little cheaper.
Disney Is Packing Extra Benefits Into a Short Window
Welcome Home Weeks isn’t limited to one park or resort.
Disney has spread the celebration across Walt Disney World, with different offerings available inside the four theme parks, at Disney Springs, and at several Disney Resort hotels.
That approach makes the event fairly easy to encounter during a regular vacation.
A member spending the afternoon at EPCOT might be able to grab a complimentary ice cream. Someone planning dinner at Disney’s Animal Kingdom could potentially save 40%. A resort day could include a private PhotoPass session or free candy during an outdoor movie.
But members will need to pay attention to the calendar.
Most of these benefits operate on specific days and during limited hours.
Members Can Find Complimentary Ice Cream Across the Resort
Disney has set up complimentary ice cream opportunities at seven locations.
Inside Magic Kingdom, DVC members can visit Tomorrowland Terrace on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios hosts its giveaway in the Tower of Terror Courtyard on Mondays and Tuesdays during the same hours.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, complimentary treats are available at Upper Bradley Falls on Thursdays and Fridays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
EPCOT members can head toward the DVC Discovery Desk in the Canada Pavilion on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Disney Springs also participates on Mondays and Fridays.
The easiest opportunities may be at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Both resort locations offer the benefit daily through August 26, although their operating hours differ.
Two Resorts Are Offering Morning Member Gatherings
Members staying around the Magic Kingdom resort area also have an excuse to start their morning with DVC.
Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower hosts a complimentary coffee and morning treat experience on Fridays and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Reunion Station at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge offers the same type of gathering on Saturdays and Sundays during that two-hour window.
These aren’t simply grab-and-go coffee stations, either. Disney designed the gatherings as an opportunity for DVC members to mingle with one another.
A Surprise Disney Character Is Waiting at the BoardWalk
Another perk could appeal to families who normally spend valuable park time waiting for characters.
Disney is hosting an exclusive character meet-and-greet at Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk.
The character is a surprise, so members won’t necessarily know who they are meeting until they arrive.
Several opportunities remain throughout August.
The experience is scheduled for August 4-5, August 12-13, August 17-18, and August 26. Each session operates from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
With August 26 serving as both a character date and the conclusion of Welcome Home Weeks, members can technically squeeze this benefit into the celebration’s final day.
Restaurant Discounts Could Save Members the Most Money
While a complimentary snack is always welcome, a 40% restaurant discount could have a much larger effect on a vacation budget.
During Welcome Home Weeks, DVC members can receive enhanced discounts at 10 participating Disney World restaurants on Mondays through Thursdays.
Hollywood & Vine offers 40% off breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Tusker House offers 40% off lunch and dinner, while Biergarten offers 40% off lunch. Tiffins and Coral Reef Restaurant offer 40% off dinner.
Garden Grill gives members 40% off lunch and dinner.
Outside the parks, Whispering Canyon Cafe offers 40% off brunch and dinner, while Trattoria al Forno offers 40% off breakfast and dinner.
Two Magic Kingdom restaurants participate at a lower rate. The Crystal Palace offers 20% off lunch and dinner, while Be Our Guest offers 20% off lunch.
The discounts apply to eligible food and nonalcoholic beverages.
Disney Springs Has a Different Freebie Every Weekday
Members could theoretically plan an entire week of Disney Springs visits around the Welcome Home Weeks offers.
Monday belongs to The Polite Pig, where purchasing a specialty cocktail or mocktail gets members a complimentary Hop Salt Pretzel. Members also receive a 15% discount on eligible food and nonalcoholic beverages.
On Tuesday, an entrée purchase at City Works comes with a complimentary Welcome Home Weeks-exclusive slushie.
Wednesday requires no purchase at all. Members can receive one complimentary Welcome Home Weeks donut at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew while supplies last.
The no-purchase-required offers continue Thursday at eet by Maneet Chauhan, where members can grab complimentary Desi ice cream.
Friday wraps up the weekly rotation at Frontera Cocina. Buying the special DVC Welcome Home Weeks cocktail or mocktail gets members a complimentary Half & Half appetizer.
Those five offers alone could give members a reason to rethink when they schedule a Disney Springs visit.
Members Can Bring Home Something Besides Food
Disney has also included several benefits that have nothing to do with eating.
Complimentary Welcome Home Weeks buttons are available at participating DVC locations around the resort. Members can find them at places including McKim’s Mile House at Magic Kingdom, ImaginAtrium and Château de Voyage at EPCOT, and Gateway to Discovery at Disney Springs.
Another perk gives families something more personal to take home.
Disney PhotoPass photographers are offering private 15-minute photo sessions at three DVC resorts.
Saratoga Springs holds sessions on Wednesdays, Old Key West on Thursdays, and Riviera on Mondays. Members must preregister for an appointment.
Disney rounds out the lineup with complimentary candy at Movies Under the Stars at select resorts.
Members Shouldn’t Wait Until August 26
August 26 might sound far enough away to leave plenty of time, but the schedules make the deadline more complicated.
A member visiting for four or five days won’t necessarily encounter every benefit. Many are tied to one or two weekdays, and the exclusive character experience only happens on select dates.
Even some complimentary offerings are available only during short afternoon windows.
That makes Welcome Home Weeks something DVC members may want to plan around rather than simply stumble across.
The good news is that there is still time.
For members heading to Walt Disney World before August 26, these 12 extras could mean more free food, cheaper meals, exclusive experiences, and a few additional vacation memories.
After that, the 2026 Welcome Home Weeks celebration will be over—and these limited-time perks will go with it.
