Disney World is a place where dreams come alive, but like any crowded destination, it’s not immune to the occasional about of sickness. With thousands of Disney World guests flocking to the parks daily, there’s always a risk of picking up a bug or feeling under the weather.
While Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” guests can still easily fall ill. One way guests tend to fall sick is that during a busy day, Disney World Parks can get incredibly crowded, especially during peak seasons. Large Disney Park crowds mean increased exposure to germs and viruses, making it easier to catch a cold or flu.
A major factor in guests falling ill at Walt Disney World is Florida’s unpredictable climate. Hot and humid conditions prevail for much of the year, and Walt Disney World guests who aren’t used to the heat may experience heat exhaustion or dehydration, leading to symptoms like dizziness, nausea, and fatigue.
While throughout Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can stop for a bite to eat or sit down for a meal. However, while Disney World maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety, eating unfamiliar foods or drinking tap water may upset some guests’ stomachs.
In a viral TikTok, one guest was waiting to hop on a popular Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction when they started to feel “off.” This guest told their friend how they were starting to feel faint and proceeded to move to the wall of the attraction.
@lindsayletsgo ‘Nothing can stop us now..’ at Disney, well, almost. 😅 Nearly met my demise (slightly dramatic, I admit) but medics got involved and it got real. Moral of the story: Hydrate, kids and don’t start your day eating a sugary breakfast or risk becoming a Disney attraction yourself. 💦✨ Major thanks to @FindingAmyJoy for being a real one, the @Disney Parks cast members and medics who came to my rescue 🚑 #DisneyAdventures #StayHydrated #disney #disneyworld #hollywoodstudios #disneytiktok #castmember #storytime #CapCut
This guest and her friend did the correct thing by looking for their nearest Disney Cast Member to assist them. The popular attraction they were waiting to join was Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a delightful attraction that takes guests on an adventure through the whimsical world of Mickey Mouse and his friends. Guests end up feeling immersed in the midst of the fun, enjoying the lively music and vibrant scenery, but, sadly for this guest, they suddenly started to feel lightheaded and dizzy.
If guests feel like they are going to faint while on any Disney Park attraction, first, they should always alert a Cast Member. Cast Members are there to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests. If you start feeling unwell, inform a nearby Cast Member immediately. They can assist you and ensure you receive the help you need.
After spotting a Cast Member, if possible, guests should find a seat or a safe area to sit down and rest. Putting your head between your knees can sometimes help alleviate symptoms of faintness. Last but not least, Disney World guests should try to remain calm. While feeling ill, it is natural to make guests feel anxious or frightened. Try to take deep breaths and focus on something steady which can help stabilize your condition.
