Disney has exciting plans for the Magic Kingdom with the announcement of a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, set to open its doors in late 2025. This much-anticipated lounge will be conveniently located next to the entrance of the beloved Pirates of the Caribbean ride, offering guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a pirate-themed atmosphere. Designed as a haven for both young and old pirate enthusiasts, this lounge promises to be a delightful respite from the hustle and bustle of the park.

As visitors step into this vibrant space, they will find themselves surrounded by familiar elements that echo the charm and thrills of the classic dark ride. Disney is dedicated to ensuring that this new addition not only serves as a place to relax but also enhances the overall experience of Adventureland, making it a must-visit area within the park.

The new lounge aims to expand the beloved Pirates of the Caribbean lore in an engaging and interactive way. Guests will become active participants in their own pirate adventure, with storytelling elements woven throughout the lounge experience. This innovative approach allows visitors to delve deeper into the whimsical and often mischievous world of pirates, fostering a sense of exploration and excitement.

The integration of the lounge with the existing dark ride is particularly noteworthy. By enhancing the thematic continuity between the two attractions, guests will have the chance to seamlessly transition from the thrilling ride to the vibrant lounge atmosphere. Such developments reflect Disney’s commitment to storytelling and creating immersive experiences that captivate the imaginations of guests.

To pave the way for this innovative lounge, several changes have taken place within Magic Kingdom. The former Pirates League makeover experience space has been transformed into the new lounge area, indicating a shift in the theme and focus of the venue. Previously, visitors could get pirate makeovers; now, they will soon enjoy a relaxing space where they can soak in the atmosphere.

Additionally, the Tortuga Tavern, once a quick-service dining location for guests, has been temporarily converted into a gift shop. This change further illustrates Disney’s commitment to creating a dedicated space for the new lounge while accommodating the needs of guests who desire a pirate-themed shopping experience.
Moreover, the popular Captain Jack Sparrow meet-and-greet has been relocated to make room for the upcoming lounge, ensuring that fans of the swashbuckling captain can still enjoy interactions with their favorite character.

The Pirates of the Caribbean lounge is just one of many exciting developments happening at Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom is also slated to receive a new area inspired by Pixar’s Cars franchise, further enhancing the park’s diverse offerings. Meanwhile, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing its own transformations, including significant updates to attractions such as Muppet*vision 3D and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, both of which will be temporarily closed for refurbishments.

Not to be outdone, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also set for changes, with plans to close DinoLand U.S.A. starting in early 2025. This area will make way for new attractions themed around the beloved films Encanto and Indiana Jones, showcasing Disney’s ongoing commitment to refreshing and expanding its offerings across the entire resort.
