Both TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will use traditional standby queues during Walt Disney World’s annual Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

This marks the first time both attractions will use a normal standby queue at the same time, with each ride being locked behind Disney’s Virtual Queue system since they opened at the park.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on specific nights from August 9 through October 31, 2024. As part of the festivities, Disney revealed both TRON and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure won’t require guests to use the Virtual Queue system, a big plus for guests who wish to experience these new rides multiple times in a single day.

Whenever a new ride opens at the Disney theme parks, it’s typically locked behind Disney’s Virtual Queue system. With Virtual Queue, guests can book a reservation from their phone for specific attractions instead of entering the queue for a ride in-person.

This reservation gives guests a time frame of when to return to that specific attraction, theoretically cutting down on lines across the board and ensuring Disney’s newest rides don’t garner massive wait times.

Guests can join the first round of Virtual Queue at 7:00 a.m. and another round at 1:00 p.m. Guests can only have one active Virtual Queue reservation at a time.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Comic Rewind, EPCOT’s new roller coaster, requires guests to use a virtual queue to ride. When it first opened, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance also used a Virtual Queue.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is only a few weeks old, officially opening to guests on June 28, 2024. This new ride takes guests through the Louisiana Bayou as Princes Tiana and friends get ready for an extravagant party.

The new ride features several impressive new animatronic figures, incredibly immersive scenery, and a catchy soundtrack. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaces Disney’s former log flume attraction, Splash Mountain, which developed quite a reputation over the years.

Splash Mountain closed permanently in 2023, marking a totally new chapter in Disney theme park history. This legendary ride had been a staple of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World for decades.

  1. How about Disney rethink the entire ride queue system? It is a process that has never changed and I think it is time for Disney to be Disney imagine a new way to queue people into a ride. It is clear they are trying to generate additional income from an old process but when a family spends an hour plus in a line they are not spending money in other parts of the parks. In today’s age of technology and everyone with a smartphone, could there be a system where once you are in the park you go to the ride and scan your ticket? if the wait is less than 30 minutes you go straight into the line. If the wait is over 30 minutes then you are given a preferred time to come back with priority entry. Sorta like the original Fast Pass but expanded to keep the total number of people in line down and in the park doing other things…say spending money.
