Child Pulls Mickey Mouse to the Ground, Character Struggles To Stand as Parents Watch
A viral video out of Walt Disney World Resort shows a Mickey Mouse character performer being pulled to the ground by a child during a meet-and-greet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The video, shared by Instagram user @magicfans.sebas, shows the moment when the performer portraying Sorcerer Mickey welcomed two children for a hug, only for one of them to yank on Mickey’s arm and jump, causing the Disney cast member to fall.

The video quickly gained attention on social media, with many Disney Parks fans expressing outrage. Some blamed the child’s parents for not intervening and allowing their child to behave in such a way.
“The kid put his full weight on Mickey’s arm and knocked him TO THE GROUND!” said @shelby_via_. “If I was the parent, we’d be leaving immediately and not coming back. I just hope that the kid and parents apologized after they stopped recording.”
“You all do realize that 99% of the time that Mickey is played by a tiny woman,” @rebwilson replied. “…If a 9-year-old boy hung on my shoulder/arm like that it would hurt me… dislocate, sprain, pop…”
“Parents…Teach them manners!” @nanubravo commented.
Not everyone agreed with the adverse reactions toward the child and his parents. Some defended the boy’s actions, stating he didn’t have malicious intent.
“It wasn’t that bad!” said @nehuenproducciones_. “They’re kids.”
“The kid clearly didn’t have any intentions to harm Mickey! “@julianolivares replied. “The person portraying [Mickey] is a drama queen!”
After the fall, the character attendant and Disney PhotoPass photographer rushed to Mickey’s side, checking to see if the performer was okay. It remains unclear whether the performer was momentarily unconscious or simply remained still to avoid further injury due to the weight and bulk of the costume.
While the video has amassed thousands of likes and comments, it’s uncertain whether the child and their family faced any consequences from Walt Disney World Resort. Disney Dining was unable to determine the current status of the performer involved or any steps taken by Disney to address the incident.
