New McDonald’s Towers Over Existing Disney Park Location
At Disneyland Paris Resort, a long-standing quick-service favorite is preparing to pass the torch as a brand-new McDonald’s rises nearby. The Golden Arches’ Disney Village location, which opened in 1999, will soon be replaced by a more modern and architecturally ambitious restaurant currently under construction near Lake Disney.
The Walt Disney Company’s relationship with McDonald’s dates back to the 1980s, beginning with Happy Meal toy tie-ins. In the 1990s, guests could find branded McDonald’s kiosks at Disneyland Park, Magic Kingdom Park, and EPCOT, and a full-service location opened in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort (now Disney Springs). McDonald’s even sponsored the DINOSAUR attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, leaving behind the now-iconic ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise-colored pipes.
The United States Disney parks gradually distanced themselves from the fast food brand in the 2000s, removing kiosks and shifting toward healthier offerings. But Disneyland Paris held onto its McDonald’s location in Disney Village. As McDonald’s became France’s second-largest market, the restaurant remained one of the area’s busiest dining options and retained its 1990s aesthetic for nearly three decades.
But now, that iconic original is set to be eclipsed. A new McDonald’s is under construction and is expected to open in early 2026. The company says the building will feature “an innovative architecture designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris.” Positioned just steps away from its predecessor, the new structure stands taller and more prominently than the existing restaurant, signaling a visual and functional upgrade for the area.

Until the new restaurant opens, guests can still visit the original McDonald’s in Disney Village for all the familiar menu staples, including McNuggets, Big Macs, and fries.
