Disney Vacation Club Members See Full Points Borrowing Return

It has been about two and a half years since Disney Parks and Resorts around the world were forced to shut their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but things are slowly moving back to normal. Some Disney Parks no longer require masks to be worn, many of them are back near full operating capacity, and the hotels are back up and running and full of Guests. Now, DVC members are also seeing one part of the pre-pandemic points system return, which means they’ll be able to take advantage of even more Disney vacation fun!

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin shared a copy of an email that Disney Vacation Club members were receiving, letting them know that they could once again borrow 100% of their points for the following year.

Disney Vacation Club has officially ended borrowing restrictions implemented in April 2020. Owners can now borrow 100% of their allotted points from a future use year.

The letter reads, in part:

Dear Disney Vacation Club Member,

At Disney Vacation Club®, we know flexibility is top of mind when it comes to planning your vacations with us. From accommodation types and length of stay to planning for multiple trips per year, we know you appreciate a variety of options.

With that in mind, our team is pleased to share that you are once again able to borrow your full allotment of Vacation Points form your next Use Year to this Use Year.

Here is more information on the Borrowing system from the Disney Vacation Club website.

Borrowing is the term for moving Vacation Points from the next Use Year to apply toward a vacation in this Use Year. By borrowing next year’s unused Vacation Points, you could enjoy larger accommodations, a longer stay or more than one vacation this year.

As a Disney Vacation Club Member, one of the great advantages of your Membership is vacation flexibility. Some years, you may not be able to use all your Vacation Points—or perhaps you want to take a bigger vacation next year. In these cases, banking Vacation Points for use in your next Use Year is a great solution.

While Disney Vacation Club Members can now use as many banked points as they want to book their incredible vacations at any Disney Vacation Club Resort, they can still not purchase Annual Passes at Walt Disney World Resort. Certain DVC members can purchase an Annual Pass — now called a Magic Key — to Disneyland Resort, but it is important to note that only the Enchant Key is currently available. The Enchant Key is the cheapest Magic Key, but has the fewest number of Disney Park reservation holds and the highest amount of blackout dates.
