Disney Unleashes Yet Another Wave of Discounts To Win Over Fans

The past few years have brought plenty of highs and lows for The Walt Disney Company, but it’s now on a mission to course-correct, starting with a new wave of targeted discounts.

While Walt Disney World Resort attendance has recovered somewhat in the years since COVID-19, the parks have still struggled to emulate the same levels of pre-pandemic glory, with some guests complaining about soaring prices and lower quality standards.

Both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT managed to increase attendance in 2023, but Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom experienced a decrease. While the numbers are not yet out for 2024, we wouldn’t be surprised if this trend continued.

At the same time, Disney has been fighting tooth and nail to retain and grow its Disney+ subscriber base. The streaming service may have experienced drastic improvement compared to its state under former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, but it still managed to lose 700,000 users in the last quarter of 2024.

Disney Launches New Perks and Discounts For Subscribers

With both sides of the business in mind, it’s no surprise that Disney is looking for ways to address them together. Its latest move is the launch of an always-on perks program for Disney+ subscribers, offering exclusive deals — including discounts at Walt Disney World — to encourage sign-ups.

The Disney World deal in question was unveiled earlier this year, offering guests the chance to stay on-property for two nights or more for less, with All-Star Sports starting from just $99 per night.

Other deals that fall under the new program include 15% off on Funko.com and Loungefly.com, plus 20% off the Adidas website and app.

Subscribers can also enjoy a three-month free trial of CLEAR+, a six-month trial of DashPass (which offers $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible restaurants, grocery, and retail orders on DoorDash), and the chance to win a free cruise on the Disney Destiny, the newest vessel on the Disney Cruise Line, or an exclusive red carpet experience in Los Angeles for the premiere of Freakier Friday (2025) later this summer.

For now, these perks are only available in the U.S. However, Disney claims that international launches are planned for later this year.

Starting June 2, Hulu will also roll out its first-ever perks program, expanding the Disney+ Perks initiative with exclusive summer benefits for Hulu and bundle subscribers. New offers will launch weekly, including sweepstakes for tickets to events like Lollapalooza, tapings of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Comic-Con, giveaways inspired by Hulu originals such as The Handmaid’s Tale and Only Murders in the Building, and special deals from partners like Microsoft, LG Electronics, and Pure Green.

As per the Disney+ website, more perks may be added at any time. It claims that this is “our way of saying thanks!”
