Typhoon Lagoon Closing for Refurbishment

We previously shared the big news that Walt Disney World Resort has revealed the reopening of its popular Water Park, Blizzard Beach. With the exciting news comes the disappointing announcement that Typhoon Lagoon is closing indefinitely.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach has been closed for refurbishment since January 2022. Now, as we near the end of the year, Walt Disney World has proudly announced the beloved Water Park will reopen to Guests on November 13, 2022.

With Blizzard Beach’s reopening, Guests can expect to experience new Frozen (2013) themes sprinkled throughout the Disney Park, including: “The new Frozen features will be part of the kid-sized thrills of Tike’s Peak that’s popular among young guests who will delight in the statuettes of Olaf and his Snowgie pals in the warm wading pool, as well as Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle.”

While Guests will finally have a chance to once again enjoy Blizzard Beach favorites like Summit Plummet, Mount Gushmore, Teamboat Springs, Toboggan Racers, Cross Country Creek, and Runoff Rapids… the news of Disney’s second Water Park closure has hit.

With the winter months coming, it’s not uncommon for Disney to announce Water Park refurbishments. The hard part is JUST hearing the news of Blizzard Beach’s reopening to find it comes at the expense of Typhoon Lagoon closing.

Be sure to visit Typhoon Lagoon and fan-favorite theme park experiences such as the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Castaway Creek, Ketchakiddee Creek, and Miss Adventure Falls before it closes mid-November 2022.
