Disney Cruise Guests Can Now Join an Official Lorcana Quest at Sea
For the first time ever, Disney’s trading card game has landed aboard the Disney Cruise Line, starting with an exclusive quest available now on the Disney Treasure. Just last week, Lorcana co-creator Ryan Miller was spotted on the ship, possibly promoting the new activity, interacting with guests and training crew members helping deliver this high-seas adventure.
What’s the Quest About?
Guests sailing on the Disney Treasure can now participate in a 5-card collectible experience that ties directly into the sea-themed Azurite Series. These special cards feature pirate variants of fan-favorite characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy.
Here’s how to get them:
- Mickey Mouse – Delivered to your stateroom on Pirate Night
- Goofy – Available at Lorcana meet-up sessions
- Donald Duck – Complete the basic quest
- Daisy Duck – Finish the advanced quest
- Minnie Mouse – Included with the Stitch Collector’s Gift Set, available at Mickey’s Mainsail for $49.99
These cards are marked with a new cruise-exclusive rarity icon: a circular emblem with a dynamic, wave-inspired flourish, making them instantly recognizable to collectors.
Learn and Play Onboard
To find out when meet-ups happen, guests can check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. These events aren’t just for collectors—they’re perfect for beginners too. You can learn to play Lorcana through guided demos or even by tuning into onboard TV, which features tutorials as part of the ship’s entertainment programming.
Lorcana Expands to the Parks and Beyond
This is part of a growing push by Disney to promote Lorcana through real-world experiences. It was also recently announced that Disney California Adventure will feature its own Lorcana quest inside The Beast’s Library at the Sorcerer’s Workshop when it reopens on August 29.
As of now, it’s unclear how long the Disney Treasure quest will run or if it will expand to other ships in the fleet.
Collectible Cards With Future Value?
Cards distributed through physical events like these tend to have higher collectible value, especially if Lorcana continues on the path of trading card giants like Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, or Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Whether you’re a hardcore gamer, casual collector, or a family looking for fun, Lorcana offers a flexible and magical way to engage with your favorite Disney characters—and now, it’s adding adventure at sea to the experience.
