Disney Springs Prepares for Major Crowd Shift as Level99 Targets 1,000 Guests at a Time

Disney Springs already pulls huge crowds most nights of the week, but this summer could take things to another level entirely. A brand-new entertainment venue called Level99 is officially preparing to open at Walt Disney World, and it feels like the kind of addition that could completely change how guests spend their evenings at Disney Springs.

For years, Disney Springs has been built around shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Guests come for dinner reservations, snacks, live music, or to browse stores before heading back to their resorts. But Level99 introduces something much more interactive — and potentially much more time-consuming in the best possible way.

The new venue is taking over the former NBA Experience building on the West Side of Disney Springs. That massive space has sat largely unused for years after NBA Experience failed to gain traction with guests. Disney clearly wanted another major anchor for that section of Disney Springs, and Level99 looks far more promising.

Instead of focusing on sports fandom, Level99 centers around interactive social gaming. Guests will reportedly move through more than 60 different challenge rooms and mini-games that mix physical obstacles, teamwork, puzzle-solving, and strategy. The entire experience feels closer to a futuristic game show than a traditional arcade.

That’s a huge deal for Disney Springs.

One of the biggest challenges Disney Springs has always faced is getting people to stay for long stretches of time unless they already had dining plans. Level99 changes that equation completely. Groups could easily spend hours inside the venue between the games, food, drinks, and social atmosphere.

And honestly, it sounds perfectly designed for modern Disney crowds.

Disney Springs has increasingly become a nighttime destination for adults, convention travelers, locals, and older teens. While families still dominate during the daytime, evenings at Disney Springs already feel much different than they did a decade ago. Lounges stay packed. Restaurants fill up quickly. Live entertainment areas become crowded late into the night.

Level99 fits directly into that energy.

The venue will include a massive two-story bar surrounded by glowing neon lighting and futuristic visuals that immediately stand out from the rest of Disney Springs. It feels intentionally designed to become one of those places guests photograph constantly and post all over social media.

That kind of visibility matters.

Once people start sharing videos of the challenge rooms and interactive games online, curiosity alone could drive huge crowds to the area this summer. Disney fans constantly chase new experiences, especially ones that feel immersive or different from the usual theme park offerings.

The timing also works heavily in Disney Springs’ favor.

Summer afternoons at Walt Disney World can become brutally hot, and many guests actively look for indoor activities once the temperatures spike. Level99 offers a giant indoor environment where visitors can stay entertained for hours while escaping the heat at the same time.

That combination could make it one of the most popular nighttime locations on Disney property very quickly.

The food side of the venue also sounds far more ambitious than many expected. In addition to cocktails and local beers, Level99 plans to serve Detroit-style pizza, burgers, snacks, and other shareable items designed for groups spending extended time inside the attraction.

That’s another sign Disney and Level99 understand the real goal here.

This is not supposed to feel like a quick stop between shopping trips.

It’s supposed to become the reason guests head to Disney Springs in the first place.

And if the opening goes well, don’t be surprised if Disney Springs starts feeling even busier later this summer once the venue officially debuts.
