Law Enforcement on the Scene of Missing Person Report at Disney World’s Outdoor Mall

Deputies were called to Disney Springs on Monday afternoon after a 911 caller reported a missing person described as endangered. The report came in while holiday crowds packed the Walt Disney World Resort shopping, dining, and entertainment district on Columbus Day.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office logged the call at 2:24 p.m. on October 12. The Central Florida law enforcement tracking account @WDWActiveCrime relayed the information on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing:

🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/12/26 2:24 PM
🚨: Missing Endangered Person at 📍: Disney Springs

The Google Maps image attached to the post points to the center of Disney Springs. However, readers shouldn’t take that as the spot where the person disappeared. Law enforcement responses across the outdoor lifestyle complex are routinely tagged with that same generic address, so the real origin of the call on Monday afternoon is unknown.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t said anything publicly about the response or the person involved, and Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t commented either. Nothing indicates whether the individual was a Disney cast member, a park guest, or a passerby with no connection to the resort.

Authorities rarely identify someone who has been found unless criminal charges follow. If the person is still missing, police may release a name or description in hopes that the public can help.

Business as Usual

Disney Springs continued to operate normally during the emergency response on October 12. Walt Disney World Resort guests can go ahead with their plans to visit the outdoor lifestyle complex. However, anyone who encounters security or law enforcement during their vacation should follow the instructions they’re given.
