Thousands Boycott Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Film as Premiere Gets Slashed

Disney’s latest live-action remake, Snow White, has been surrounded by controversy since the day it was announced. And now, in what seems to be a sign of growing concern within the company, Disney has decided to cancel the traditional red carpet premiere for the film.

Rather than rolling out the usual grand event for the highly anticipated movie, the studio is taking a low-profile approach, limiting media access and scaling back promotional efforts. The decision has left many wondering if Disney is trying to minimize further damage after months of backlash.

A Troubled Production from the Start

From the very beginning, Snow White has faced an uphill battle with fans. The casting of Rachel Zegler as the title character drew mixed reactions, but it was her public comments about the original film that truly ignited outrage. Zegler criticized the 1937 version for its outdated portrayal of Snow White’s romance, dismissing the prince as a character who “stalks” her and emphasizing that the remake would be a modernized take on the story.

Fans were also divided over Disney’s response to Peter Dinklage’s criticism of the seven dwarfs. The studio opted to replace them with CGI, a change that only intensified the backlash, with some feeling that Disney was altering too much of the original film’s essence.

When the trailer for Snow White dropped, it only added to the negativity. Many viewers felt that the CGI-heavy visuals stripped away the magic of the beloved classic, and the trailer quickly racked up over a million dislikes online.

Snow White Premiere Gets a Quiet Makeover

Now, with only days to go before Snow White hits theaters, Disney has officially canceled its red carpet premiere. The event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will still take place, but without the usual media presence. Instead of the grand spectacle typical of a Disney release, the company is opting for a much more subdued gathering, with limited press access and a focus on in-house coverage.

This move has sparked further speculation that Disney is trying to limit bad press ahead of the movie’s debut. TV host Caleb Bond didn’t mince words when reacting to the decision, calling it a sign that the company knows the film is in trouble.

“The whole thing is a joke, and the best bit is that they know it. That is why they’re not having a full-on red carpet.”

Disney Fans Aren’t Holding Back

Unsurprisingly, Disney fans have strong opinions about the latest development. Many have already vowed to skip the movie, believing that the studio has lost sight of what made Snow White a classic in the first place.

“This just proves what we already knew—Disney doesn’t have confidence in this movie.”

“They should have left Snow White alone. The magic is gone, and I’m not wasting my money on this.”

“At this point, just cancel it and save everyone the trouble.”

What’s Next for Snow White?

With Snow White tracking for an underwhelming opening at the box office, Disney is facing an uphill battle to win over skeptical audiences. If the premiere cancellation is any indication, the company may already be bracing for the worst.

Will the film be able to turn things around, or is Snow White destined to be one of Disney’s biggest misfires in recent history? That answer will come soon enough when audiences make their decision at the box office.

  1. I wish Rene Ziegler had never said all the terrible things she said about Snow White, she’s ruined everything. Above all, she disrespected Walt Disney’s dream. The 1937 Snow White movie was the one which helped him to pursue his dream of Disneyland.

  2. She has no clue about the original movie. The prince didn’t stork Snow White as Zeigler stated! And by not using 7 dwarves, it does take away from Walt’s classic cartoon. Out of all the live action classic remakes, this one and the little mermaid went off tge scripts. Another one I won’t waste my money on!
