Disney Puts Nighttime Spectacular on Hiatus, No Performances for Over a Month
One Disney park is putting its nighttime spectacular on hiatus.
Nighttime spectaculars are a huge part of the Disney park experience, from Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom (a show so beloved that Disney fans all but cyber bullied the company into bringing it back) to Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park.

As with everything else at Disney, these shows are subject to change.
Some of these pauses are spontaneous. For example, Disneyland previously put Fantasmic! on a lengthy hiatus when a fire took out Maleficent during the show’s finale.
Mostly, however, these closures are planned far in advance – such as to make way for limited-time holiday shows, or to allow for essential maintenance.

Disney Park Puts Nighttime Spectacular on Hiatus
That’s the case at one Disney park, where a show is pausing production for over a month in early 2026.
Believe! Sea of Dreams will go on hiatus from January 8, 2026, to February 12, 2026.
The Tokyo DisneySea show typically runs nightly in the Mediterranean Harbor. In addition to a giant ship on the water, the show incorporates lasers and pyrotechnics, plus characters such as Peter Pan, Wendy, Aladdin, and Princess Jasmine for a truly unique Disney park spectacular (even if, technically, Tokyo DisneySea isn’t owned by Disney. But we digress).

“Nighttime entertainment where Disney friends remind dreamers to keep on believing and making their wishes come true,” Tokyo Disney says on its website. “Enjoy this spectacular show, which features large boats gliding dynamically over Mediterranean Harbor, bright lasers and pyrotechnics illuminating the night sky, as well as projection mapping that envelops the vast performance space of the harbor.”
Tokyo DisneySea also notes February 13 as a closure day for the show, despite its original closure only ending the prior day. Believe! Sea of Dreams will also not be performed on March 6.
It went on hiatus over a similar timeframe in 2024.
The park hasn’t provided a reason for the show’s hiatus. However, it slightly overlaps with the closure of Sky Full of Colors, which is on hiatus from next week through the middle of January. It will also stay closed on January 16, 23, and 30, plus February 13 and March 6.
