Disney Just Revealed a Brand New Muppets Food Concept at Hollywood Studios

Disney is opening a Muppets-themed food location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26, and the concept is exactly as chaotic and wonderful as it sounds.

FØØD by Swedish Chef opens in the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets courtyard on the same day the reimagined coaster opens to the general public. The location takes over the former KRNR The Rock Station snack kiosk and sits steps from the ride exit, making it the first thing guests encounter after coming off the attraction.

The Swedish Chef running a snack stand at a major Disney theme park is inherently the right idea, and Disney is leaning into it fully with a refreshed look for the space and an entirely new menu built specifically for the location.

What Is on the Menu

A full menu reveal has not dropped yet. Disney has confirmed that a complete Foodie Guide will be released before the May 26 opening date, so the full picture of what FØØD by Swedish Chef will serve is still a few weeks away.

What has surfaced is one confirmed menu item that is already generating attention. The first item appears to be a red churro covered in orange and yellow sprinkles, a color combination that aligns with Animal, the drummer for The Electric Mayhem and one of the central characters featured in the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Whether the rest of the menu follows the same character-inspired design logic has not been confirmed, but the Animal churro suggests the menu is being built with real thematic intentionality rather than generic snack options with Muppets branding dropped on top.

Disney’s own description of the location calls it striking a whole new chord in the courtyard, with the refreshed space and new menu designed to keep the good vibes going long after the ride is over. The language is calibrated to the rock concert framing that runs through the entire Muppets coaster experience.

How This Fits Into the May 26 Opening at Disney

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets replaces the Aerosmith version of the attraction that ran at Hollywood Studios for decades. The new ride keeps the high-speed launch, the inversions, and the G-Force Records setting while wrapping the entire experience in the world of The Electric Mayhem. Annual Passholders get exclusive preview access to the coaster on May 21, 22, and 23 before the general public opening on May 26.

FØØD by Swedish Chef does not open during the Passholder preview period. It opens on May 26 alongside the general public debut of the coaster, meaning the full courtyard experience, ride and food together, is a May 26 event.

For guests planning a Hollywood Studios visit around the coaster opening, the addition of a themed food location steps from the ride exit adds another layer to the experience that goes beyond the attraction itself. Exiting a Muppets themed coaster and walking directly into a Swedish Chef snack spot is the kind of environmental storytelling that makes a single area of a theme park feel like a fully realized world rather than a ride surrounded by concrete.

The full menu is still coming. May 26 is the date for everything.
