Disney Guests Plea for End To Peeing Trend, “It Happens Every Day”
Disney park guests have begged for fellow parkgoers to abandon one growing trend: peeing in the park.
While Disney parks are intentionally designed to create as many magical memories as possible, one thing even Walt Disney Imagineering can’t control is the way its guests behave.
The vast majority of Disney park guests may follow the rules, but there will always be those who push the boundaries of what is and isn’t allowed – whether that’s by verbally or physically abusing cast members, diving into World Showcase Lagoon over a $60,000 bet, trying to sneak cocaine into the Magic Kingdom, or even stripping naked on “it’s a small world”.
(Yes, all of these things have happened).
Reports have emerged from one park claiming that some guests are acting out in one particularly unsanitary way lately.
Increase in Public Urination
As per HK01, some guests have taken to urinating out in the open at Hong Kong Disneyland instead of opting to find or wait for the bathroom.
A video shared on Threads showed an adult guest peeing in a leafy area at the park, accompanied by a younger guest – who appeared to be their son – who the user claimed also urinated and defecated in the same spot.
The same user went on to claim that a friend of theirs worked at the theme park and had complained about other guests doing this “every day.”
Other Threads users shared their thoughts on the matter, with many criticizing the parents who allow and encourage their children to act this way in public. “Behind the untutored children, there must be untutored parents,” said one user.
There were also calls for guests to simply locate the nearest bathroom instead. “There are toilets all around Disneyland,” said one user, “and there is no need to wait for the men’s toilet.”
If caught, urinating in public can generate a hefty fine in Hong Kong. Allowing a child under 12 to do so is illegal and punished by a fine of HK$2,000 ($257).

Shanghai Disneyland has also battled the issue of public urination – and public defecation – in the past. In 2023, signs were erected featuring characters from Zootopia (2016) asking guests to “hop on over to the nearest bathroom” when they need to go.
This followed reports from when the park first opened in 2016 that claimed young Disney guests were both urinating and defecating in public.
Disney’s parks in the U.S. have also witnessed their fair share of incidents. In 2024, a woman was asked to leave Disneyland Park after peeing in a cup and pouring the contents into a nearby bush in New Orleans Square.
That same year, an adult guest shared an image on Facebook in which he and his young child appeared to be urinating against the construction walls around Splash Mountain during its controversial transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
