Disney Guests Open Their Wallets for Disney Despite Rising Costs

The ghoulish delights of fall are creeping back into Magic Kingdom as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns for the 2025 season. With festive treats, exclusive entertainment, and rare character appearances, it’s no surprise that fans are already snapping up tickets for the limited-run event.

This year’s celebration begins August 15 and continues through October 31 on select evenings, primarily Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. Starting September 25, Thursdays also join the schedule. While the party officially kicks off at 7 p.m., guests with a ticket can enter as early as 4 p.m., giving them even more time to enjoy attractions before the Halloween fun begins.

Despite a notable increase in ticket prices—ranging from $119 in early August to $229 later in the season—fans are undeterred. October 31 sold out first, as expected, and it remains the most expensive night on the calendar. August 19 followed quickly, and now August 17 has also reached capacity. Interestingly, August 17 is priced at $119, one of the more affordable dates, showing strong demand even for earlier party nights.

Among the highlights for 2025 are the always-popular Boo-To-You Halloween Parade and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Cinderella Castle, where the Sanderson Sisters and their villainous friends steal the spotlight with high-energy performances and magical mayhem.

Jack Skellington once again hosts Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, an immersive fireworks and projection show featuring spooktacular visuals. And speaking of Jack, he and Sally are sporting newly updated costumes that more closely match their appearance in The Nightmare Before Christmas, adding a fresh twist to this beloved meet-and-greet.

Guests can also expect Disney characters to be dressed in their Halloween best—including Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy—as well as rare appearances from others, like the Seven Dwarfs. These meet-and-greet opportunities are a major draw for guests who cherish exclusive character interactions.

PhotoPass photographers will be stationed throughout Magic Kingdom, offering Magic Shots, special props, and themed overlays only available during the event. If you’ve purchased Memory Maker or have PhotoPass linked to your account, this is the perfect time to capture unforgettable Halloween moments.

Costumes are not only encouraged—they’re tradition. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the few events where guests of all ages can wear full costumes inside the park. Many attendees arrive in elaborate Disney-inspired outfits, creating a festive atmosphere unlike any other. As always, Disney’s costume guidelines ensure that the fun remains family-friendly and safe for all.

Tickets for the event are sold separately from regular park admission. However, Annual Passholders can enjoy a $10 discount on select August and September dates, a welcome perk for those planning their spooky getaway early.

With last year’s events selling out completely by September 24, this year’s early sellouts suggest a repeat performance. Guests are clearly still drawn to the magic of the season, even with rising ticket prices.

Whether it’s the exclusive entertainment, the festive treats, or the chance to see the park in a whole new light, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party continues to be a fall favorite. If you’re hoping to experience the thrills and chills of the 2025 season, it’s time to grab those tickets before more dates vanish into thin air.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
