Disney Guests Evacuated From 120-Feet Above Ground; Forced to Scale Down Roller Coaster With “Nothing but a Handrail”

Last night, a worst nightmare came true for some unlucky guests.

A fear of heights is an incredibly common thing, even for fans of roller coasters. For many, the thought of being stuck at a roller coaster’s peak is the worst situation imaginable. Unfortunately, that is precisely what happened to a group of Disneyland Resort guests last evening, January 25, 2024.

While some people actually like it when rides break down, and they get to see the “backstage” side of things, others feel fear and trepidation when things go wrong in such a way. One guest shared their story on X of the moment when their worst nightmare came true.

Not for the Faint of Heart!

Last night, Disney guests were evacuated from the 120-foot ride summit of the Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure Park. The guests found themselves in an unexpected situation as they were forced to embark on an unconventional journey down the towering structure. With their hearts racing and adrenaline pumping, they had to rely solely on a simple handrail to guide them safely to the ground.

Incredicoaster, like many other thrilling rides at amusement parks, sometimes requires evacuation procedures due to mechanical errors or unforeseen issues. While it may seem like an inconvenience for guests, these necessary measures prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Considering the high speeds and intense sensations experienced on Incredicoaster, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly is of utmost importance.

A Necessary Part of Theme Parks

When an evacuation is initiated, an efficient and well-orchestrated process takes place to ensure the smooth and timely evacuation of guests. The Walt Disney Company has established comprehensive protocols to handle such theme park ride malfunctions. Trained cast members, equipped with the necessary expertise, swiftly assess the mechanical error and guide each Disney guest through the evacuation process with utmost care and professionalism.

While it is true that ride evacuations can disrupt the normal flow of park operations, it is important to remember that guest safety and satisfaction are paramount. The Disneyland Resort, which hosts Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, prides itself on providing an exceptional guest experience. Although rare, ride evacuations are a necessary precaution to maintain high safety standards and ensure that guests can enjoy their visit without compromising their well-being.

It is wonderful to know that these guests made it down safely. Hopefully, they recover from the mental stress of this situation and still find joy at the Disney theme parks.
