After a summer of Pixar-themed enchantment, Disneyland Resort is closing the curtain on its beloved Pixar Fest. The return celebration, which began on April 26, has come to a spectacular end, leaving fans with cherished memories and a farewell to the colorful world of Pixar Animation Studios.
Throughout its run, Pixar Fest transformed the theme park into a vibrant showcase of Pixar’s iconic characters and stories. From exhilarating new attractions to exclusive merchandise and themed dining experiences, the event was a hit among guests of all ages. However, just as fans gathered to celebrate a grand ending, Disney unfortunately dropped the ball.

Disney Fails To Stick the Landing on Pixar Fest
The closing day of Pixar Fest saw a final surge of excitement as visitors flocked to experience the event’s signature attractions one last time. Fans soaked in the parades, meet-and-greets, and special events that the show brought to the parks. Pixar-themed merchandise, including limited-edition collectibles and apparel, has also been a highlight of the festival. Many fans eagerly snapped up souvenirs to remember their visit, with popular items selling out quickly.
The event’s entertainment lineup, which included the Pixar Pals Parade and the Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular fireworks show, also saw its final performance for the festival on August 4. The parade, featuring characters from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and other favorites, drew crowds for one last joyful procession down Main Street.
Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular fireworks will no longer be a part of the Pixar Fest as a whole. On August 4, many fans gathered to watch this fireworks show provide a breathtaking finale to the festival, with dazzling pyrotechnics and music from Pixar’s greatest hits lighting up the night sky.
Fans Disappointed as Fireworks Are Cancelled
Unfortunately, guests were not able to experience this festival finale as hopes. As crowds eagerly waited in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, an announcement was made that the fireworks show would not be going on as hoped.
They just cancelled fireworks for the final night of Pixar Fest at Disneyland. I know they don’t control the wind but it’s a fitting end to a festival that feels like it was a major flop. 2018’s Pixar Fest was WAY better.

For those who missed Pixar Fest, there’s still plenty of time to visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park and enjoy the many other attractions and experiences the park has to offer. Even though Pixar Fest didn’t wrap up in the way that guests had hoped, this summer was still a memorable one at Disneyland Resort.
