Disney Confirms Five New ‘Star Wars’ TV Shows and 2 Movies
This year, fall doesn’t just mark the beginning of Halloween-themed content on Disney+ — a new slate of Star Wars TV shows is also about to launch.
From a LEGO miniseries to the darker side of animation and anime anthologies to the next live-action series, there are five upcoming Star Wars TV shows. But that’s not all — there are also two new theatrical movies now in development, each with a release date.
The Force is strong with this lineup.
Star Wars TV Shows
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy — Pieces of the Past
Following last year’s LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, Pieces of the Past sees the return of many characters, including Gaten Matarazzo (Sig Greebling), Ahmed Best (Darth Jar Jar), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
The Multiversal faraway galaxy adventures continue as Sig struggles to rebuild the galaxy after altering the course of history. Expect plenty of not-so-familiar heroes and new villains such as Darth Solitus (Dan Stevens)
You can assemble all four installments when they land on Friday, September 19.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3
The critically acclaimed Star Wars: Visions is getting a third season. The first two each featured nine original anime shorts unrelated to the wider franchise canon.
While Volume 3 will continue with that trend, it will also feature three sequels to Volume 1 episodes: “The Duel: Payback”, “The Lost Ones”, and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope”, which follow “The Duel”, “The Village Bride”, and “The Ninth Jedi”, respectively.
All nine episodes will premiere on October 29.

Star Wars: Visions Presents
At Star Wars Celebration earlier this year, Lucasfilm announced a new spin-off series of Visions titled Star Wars: Visions Presents.
The first installment will be The Ninth Jedi, a full series based on the Volume 1 episode of the same name. However, it remains to be seen what the subsequent spinoffs will be (here’s hoping we get a continuation of “Lop and Ocho”).
While there’s no release date set, Star Wars: Visions Presents is expected to arrive in 2026.
Ahsoka Season 2
Ahsoka was one of the most highly anticipated Star Wars television shows, largely because it was essentially a live-action sequel to Rebels (2014).
The upcoming second season is no exception. While Season 1 received mixed reviews, it ended on a cliffhanger, and fans are eager to see what will happen to Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo).
We don’t have a release date for Ahsoka Season 2 yet, but it’s expected to drop in 2026.
Maul — Shadow Lord

Also arriving sometime next year is Maul – Shadow Lord, a new series that will adopt the same animation style as The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, and the Tales of installments.
As you can guess from the title, it will focus on former Sith Lord Maul (with Sam Witwer reprising his role) during the reign of the Galactic Empire following The Clone Wars era. Needless to say, fans are thrilled to finally be getting a Maul-focused television series.
We don’t know the exact release date yet, but as soon as we know, you’ll know.
Star Wars Movies
While there are several Star Wars movies reportedly in development, including a Jedi origin movie from James Mangold (Logan) and an untitled Rey sequel set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Disney is known for announcing projects that quietly wind up on the scrapheap — which is why we only care about films that are actually happening.
The Mandalorian & Grogu
Directed by Jon Favreau (2019’s The Lion King) and based on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019), The Mandalorian & Grogu will continue with the faraway-galaxy adventures of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, only this time on the silver screen.
Sigourney Weaver (Ghostbusters), Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), and Jonny Coyne (The Nun) have also been cast. The Mandalorian & Grogu lands in theaters on May 22, 2026.
Starfighter

Directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) with Ryan Gosling (Blade Runner 2049, Barbie) in the lead role, Star Wars: Starfighter is “set approximately five years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker,” according to the synopsis on StarWars.com.
Starfighter is set to launch on May 28, 2027.
