Donald & Daisy Duck Are Packing Their Bags, Leaving Disney World Location Next Year
Fans of Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip, and Dale will need to say goodbye to the mischievous gang in their DinoLand U.S.A. meet-and-greet locations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park starting February 2026. Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed that the characters will move to a new location within the park, but gave no further details about when or where they will return.
The announcement came as Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that the remaining areas of DinoLand U.S.A. will close permanently on February 2, 2026. This is the latest step in a phased retirement that began in January 2025, when attractions like TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama (including the Fossil Fun Games), and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures closed for good. The Boneyard play area welcomed its final young paleontologists on September 1.
The fate of DinoLand U.S.A. was set in motion at D23 Expo 2024, when Walt Disney Imagineering announced plans to introduce a Tropical Americas-themed land called Pueblo Esperanza at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The new area will include two Encanto (2021) attractions and an Indiana Jones retheme of DINOSAUR. Disney plans to open the land sometime in 2027.
According to theme park journalist Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin on X, formerly Twitter), Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed the four characters will relocate from DinoLand U.S.A. However, Disney hasn’t shared specifics on where or when fans can meet them again.
NEW: Feb. 1 will be the final day to see Donald, Daisy, and Chip & Dale in DinoLand. After the land is closed as of Feb. 2, the characters will relocate to another area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with more details to be shared later.
Currently, Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale are dressed in dinosaur-themed outfits as part of Donald’s Dino-Bash!, entertaining guests across DinoLand U.S.A. Donald meets near Restaurantosaurus, while Daisy, Chip, and Dale appear at two locations along the Cretaceous Trail. Whether the characters will keep their dinosaur costumes when they relocate remains unknown.
Guests can still meet Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale at other Walt Disney World Resort locations, including Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Should Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip, and Dale keep their dinosaur-themed costumes when they move to different meet-and-greet locations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park? Share your opinion with Disney Dining in the comments!
