Every year, Disney World finds a way to sprinkle a little extra magic into the holiday season—and more often than not, that magic comes at an added cost. From dessert parties with fireworks views to special after-hours park events, guests have grown familiar with the idea that unique experiences usually require a premium ticket. This year, one of EPCOT’s most relaxing attractions is once again joining that list.
A Classic with Holiday Charm
Living with the Land, EPCOT’s slow-moving boat ride through futuristic greenhouses, has always been a peaceful break from the park’s thrill rides. But in recent years, Disney has elevated the attraction into a seasonal favorite with its Glimmering Greenhouses holiday overlay. During the International Festival of the Holidays, the ride transforms into a glowing spectacle of lights and decorations that capture the spirit of the season.
For most guests, a nighttime ride through the twinkling displays feels like a hidden gem. But Disney is offering a new option for fans who want to take that experience a step further.
The Return of Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses
This seasonal offering is back for 2025, and it’s called Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses. It’s essentially a holiday twist on the classic Behind the Seeds tour, which has long given guests an inside look at the innovative farming techniques showcased in the attraction.
The difference this time? Guests step directly into the decorated greenhouses after dark. The one-hour guided tour includes behind-the-scenes details about how the overlay is created and offers a chance to see the glowing plants and festive displays up close. Reservations open October 9, with tour times at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. nightly.
Tied to EPCOT’s Holiday Festival
This special add-on coincides with EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, which runs from November 28 through December 30. Alongside this tour, the festival features fan-favorite traditions like the Candlelight Processional, JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season, and cultural holiday storytellers. Santa Claus will also have a new meet-and-greet location this year inside CommuniCore Hall.
Paying for Holiday Extras
For some, the idea of paying extra for an experience inside an already operating attraction may cause frustration. But others see it as an irresistible way to enjoy Disney during its most magical season. The glow of the greenhouses has become a sought-after holiday sight, and this upcharge option guarantees guests a closer, more personal encounter.
Disney knows that during the holidays, many visitors are more than willing to spend a little more to make their trip feel unforgettable—and this nighttime greenhouse tour is designed exactly for that.
