Disney+ Announces April 2026 Lineup Packed With New Shows and Movies

Something exciting is quietly taking shape on Disney+ as April 2026 approaches. The platform has confirmed a wide range of new content, and even without a massive announcement, the lineup already feels stacked. There’s a little bit of everything—original series, returning favorites, live sports, and crossover releases that show just how much Disney+ has expanded in recent years.

At first, it might seem like a routine monthly update. But once you start digging into the details, a different picture forms. The content feels more balanced. The rollout feels more deliberate. And the way Disney+ connects with Hulu and ESPN is starting to feel less like separate services and more like a single, connected experience.

That shift is worth paying attention to.

A Platform That Keeps Growing

Disney+ didn’t take long to establish itself as a major force in streaming. What started as a home for Disney’s biggest franchises has grown into something much broader.

Now, the platform pulls together content from across Disney, Hulu, and ESPN, offering everything from scripted series to live sports. That evolution continues in April, when the schedule doesn’t rely on just one or two big releases. Instead, Disney+ spreads content across the entire month to keep viewers coming back.

April 1 Sets the Tone Early

The month opens with a strong batch of releases. Dear Killer Nannies arrives as a Hulu Original with all episodes ready to stream, while Donna Hay Coastal Celebrations launches on Disney+ with a full-season drop. At the same time, Secrets of the Bees debuts across both platforms.

O11CE: New Generation continues its weekly rollout, and Hulu adds Atomic (Season 1), giving the first day of April a little bit of everything.

Early April Blends Entertainment and Live Events

By April 3, Pizza Movie joins Hulu’s lineup, offering a lighter watch as ESPN ramps up its sports coverage. Hockey games and the NCAA Women’s College Basketball Tournament quickly take over the schedule.

April 4 adds a new episode of Locker Diaries: ZOMBIES: Shorts, keeping Disney+’s younger lineup active. Then, April 5 delivers one of the more unique moments of the month with Inside Out Classic, an animated NHL broadcast streaming live alongside the Women’s Championship game.

A Big Week for Originals

April 6 marks the start of a major stretch for Disney+. American Idol (Season 9) begins streaming live, bringing a real-time viewing experience to the platform.

That same day, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is introduced with a two-episode premiere, instantly becoming one of the biggest draws of the month. The momentum continues with Daredevil: Born Again (Season 2) returning on April 7.

By April 8, Disney+ adds more family-focused content like Hey A.J.! and How Not to Draw, while Hulu debuts The Testaments. ESPN also begins coverage of The Masters, adding even more variety.

Mid-April Keeps Things Moving

The following days continue that steady rhythm. Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair drops on April 10 as a full-season Hulu Original, while Disney+ adds more RoboGobo.

Perfect Crown begins releasing episodes across Disney+ and Hulu, continuing into April 11 alongside more Locker Diaries: ZOMBIES: Shorts and additional sports coverage.

Weekly Releases Take Over

By mid-April, the schedule settles into a consistent groove. American Idol returns on April 13, while Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord continues its rollout.

April 14 brings another episode of Daredevil: Born Again, introducing Meet Iron Man and his Awesome Friends. Hulu adds #SKYKING, while O11CE: New Generation continues its steady release on April 15.

A Weekend Packed With Major Events

April 17 introduces Little Margo Stories: Shorts alongside Hulu’s addition of Innate, while Perfect Crown keeps releasing new episodes.

Then, on April 18, things ramp up in a big way. The NBA and NHL Playoffs both begin, along with the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship and WWE WrestleMania 42, streaming on ESPN in the United States. WrestleMania continues into April 19, making it one of the biggest weekends of the month.

The Final Stretch Keeps Delivering

The last stretch of April doesn’t slow down. American Idol and Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord return on April 20, followed by Daredevil: Born Again continuing on April 21.

April 22 introduces Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ and the Disney+ original Orangutan. Then, on April 24, Nikki Glaser: Good GirlNo Other Choice (2025) and The Prep School Disappearance are added, while Perfect Crown continues.

April 25 brings Good Boy (2025) to Hulu, followed by more sports and another live episode of American Idol on April 27. That same day also adds Disney Animation’s Songs in Sign Language.

The month wraps up with more Daredevil, additional O11CE: New Generation and SuperKitties (Season 3), and finally Project Runway All Stars (Seasons 5–7) on April 30.

Disney+ Is Playing the Long Game

Looking at the full lineup, Disney+ clearly isn’t relying on one major moment. Instead, it spreads content across the entire month, mixing live events with weekly episodes and full-season drops.

That approach keeps viewers engaged and gives them a reason to return again and again. April 2026 shows a platform that knows exactly how to pace itself—and for subscribers, that means there’s always something new waiting.
