Three Injured, One in Critical Condition Following Shooting at Orlando Theme Park

Gun violence led to three minors being rushed to the hospital on Saturday evening following a shooting at an Orlando-area theme park.

An amusement park located on International Drive in Central Florida, approximately ten miles northeast of the Walt Disney World Resort, was the location of a shooting on Saturday night. Shortly before midnight, a person fired shots into a crowded parking lot at Dezerland Park, injuring three minors.

A call to local law enforcement was placed around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, 15 minutes before the amusement park was scheduled to close for the evening. Officers with the Orlando Police Department responded, arriving on the scene at Dezerland only moments later.

According to investigators, someone began shooting into a crowd just before the Dezerland indoor amusement park was to close on Saturday. After everything was said and done, there were three young victims–each one injured by gunfire. The children were immediately transported to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, about 5 miles from Dezerland. According to police, one of the young victims is listed in critical condition.
