Big changes are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and unfortunately, that means saying goodbye to a beloved area—Muppets Courtyard. The fan-favorite space, known for its quirky humor and nostalgic charm, will soon be replaced by a brand-new Monsters, Inc.-themed land.
This transformation means that attractions like Muppet Vision 3D, along with dining staples like Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and PizzeRizzo, will be closing for good. Even the cherished Miss Piggy fountain won’t survive the transition. While Disney hasn’t confirmed an exact closure date, with construction scheduled to begin in 2025, it’s safe to assume that demolition could start at any time.
If you’re hoping to experience Muppets Courtyard one last time, it’s best to visit sooner rather than later. Disney typically announces closures a few months in advance, similar to what they did with DinoLand U.S.A., so an update could come any day now.
Other Disney World Changes to Watch For in 2025
Magic Kingdom is also seeing significant temporary closures. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a Frontierland favorite, is currently unavailable for refurbishment, leaving thrill-seekers disappointed. In addition, the Walt Disney World Railroad is once again out of service, impacting transportation around the park. Over in Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter is closed, and Storybook Circus has lost access to the Dumbo playground, affecting younger guests’ experiences.
EPCOT is no exception to the wave of refurbishments. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros will be closed from January 6 to March 15, 2025, so guests will have to wait to enjoy this peaceful journey through the Mexico Pavilion. Meanwhile, Test Track remains closed for its highly anticipated reimagining, which aims to bring a fresh and futuristic twist to the attraction.
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the closure of DinoLand U.S.A. is paving the way for an exciting new land inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones. This upcoming addition will add fresh experiences and attractions focused on adventure and nature.
While it’s tough to say goodbye to familiar favorites, Disney’s ongoing changes promise exciting new experiences for the future. Be sure to stay updated on official announcements so you don’t miss your chance to experience these attractions before they’re gone.
Mama Melrose closing? That stinks…looked forward to eating there every time we went. Hopefully it’s relocated elsewhere in the park.
