Completing a Wishables Set Now Costs Nearly $100 at Disney World

Walt Disney World has increased prices on Wishables, the popular mystery plush collectibles. The small blind-box items now cost $17.99 each, up from their previous pricing.

What Are Wishables?

Wishables are approximately five-inch plush toys sold in mystery packaging. Each purchase is a surprise, with the box hiding which character you’ll receive. Disney releases them in themed series, with one character typically rarer than others.

The blind-box format appeals to collectors who try to complete full sets. Past themes have included park attractions, Disney films, holidays, and various character collections.

New Wishables Shimmer Series Debut

Two new shimmer Wishables collections recently arrived at Walt Disney World, both priced at $17.99:

The Aristocats Collection celebrates the film’s 55th anniversary and includes Marie, Toulouse, Berlioz, Duchess, and Thomas O’Malley. All feature sparkly exteriors. These have been spotted at Creations Shop in EPCOT and other resort locations.

World Showcase Collection features characters dressed in country-specific attire from EPCOT’s World Showcase. The series includes Chip for Canada, Minnie Mouse for Japan, Pluto for France, Dale for Morocco, and Mickey Mouse for Italy. These are available at World Traveler near International Gateway.

The Cost of Collecting

At $17.99 per blind box, completing a five-character set can cost around $90, assuming no duplicate purchases. For collectors targeting specific characters, the price adds up quickly since there’s no guarantee which plush you’ll receive in each box.

This pricing structure particularly affects completionists who want entire collections. The mystery element means multiple purchases are often necessary to get desired characters.

Part of a Broader Trend

The Wishables increase follows other recent Disney merchandise price changes. In October 2025, Walt Disney World raised prices on graphic t-shirts while reducing associated discounts.

Base prices for graphic tees increased from $29.99 to $32.99. The “More Magic” multi-purchase discount, previously bringing per-shirt cost to $25, now only reduces prices to $29.99. The discount percentage dropped significantly.

Spirit Jerseys, which debuted around $54, now commonly cost near $80 or more depending on design and exclusivity. Snacks and other souvenirs have followed similar upward trends.

Guest Reactions

The Wishables price increase generated discussion on social media platforms like TikTok, where Disney fans share park experiences and purchases. Many noted the jump felt particularly steep for a five-inch blind-box item.

Collectors expressed concern about the rising cost of completing sets, especially as Disney continues releasing new themed series regularly. The shimmer finish and anniversary tie-ins create additional urgency for fans wanting special editions.

Shopping Strategy Changes

Rising merchandise prices may influence how guests approach Disney shopping. Instead of purchasing multiple small items throughout their visit, families might prioritize one or two meaningful souvenirs.

Some fans turn to:

  • Resale markets for specific characters
  • Online retailers outside the parks
  • Waiting for sales or discounts
  • Being more selective about which series to collect

For casual buyers, $17.99 for a small mystery plush may cross the threshold from impulse purchase to considered decision. For dedicated collectors of specific themes like Aristocats or World Showcase, the appeal likely remains despite higher costs.

Looking at Overall Value

Disney merchandise pricing has shifted significantly over recent years. Items that once felt like accessible park souvenirs now edge into premium pricing territory. The increases happen gradually, making them less immediately noticeable but adding up substantially over time.

Wishables will likely continue selling, particularly among committed collectors and fans of featured franchises. However, the conversation around their pricing reflects broader questions about Disney merchandise value.

Guests visiting Walt Disney World now factor merchandise costs more carefully into vacation budgets. What used to be spontaneous souvenir purchases increasingly require advance planning and spending decisions.

The Wishables Collector’s Dilemma

For Wishables specifically, the blind-box format creates a unique challenge. Collectors can’t simply purchase their favorite character directly. They must buy multiple boxes, hoping to avoid duplicates while completing sets.

At nearly $18 per attempt, the gamble becomes expensive. Disney clearly understands the collector mentality and designs releases accordingly, with shimmer finishes, anniversary editions, and limited availability driving urgency.

Whether the current pricing represents fair value depends on individual perspectives. For some, the joy of collecting Disney-themed items justifies the cost. For others, the increases push Wishables from accessible collectible to occasional splurge purchase.
