Cleaning Your Hands at Disney World Now Comes at a High Cost
Walt Disney World Resort guests are now facing an unexpected cost when it comes to something as simple as cleaning their hands.

In May, Disney announced a collaboration with Touchland, a luxury hand sanitizer brand that has quickly gained popularity across the United States. This collaboration has brought a new, Disney-branded sanitizer to the parks, but at a hefty price. For $20, guests can purchase the Special-Edition Disney & Touchland Set, which includes a bottle of the sanitizer with a Mickey Mouse design and a black Mickey Mouse Mist Case that gives the sanitizer its own set of iconic ears.

The set features the “award-winning Wild Watermelon scent,” described as having “notes of juicy watermelon, jasmine petals, and fuzzy peaches.” For $20, guests get the hand sanitizer mist in a 1-ounce bottle along with the Mickey Mouse Mist Case. The Mist Case can be reused with other sanitizers, but the Mickey Mouse-branded hand sanitizer bottle is only available in this special set.

As of July 28, the Special-Edition Disney & Touchland Set is now available at Walt Disney World Resort, with the first sightings of the product found at the World of Disney store in Disney Springs. The set is sold in a see-through foil packet, and its price tag is set at $20. WDWNT reported that the set initially appeared on a “Fun Find Under $25.00” table in the store, but Disney cast members eventually moved it behind the checkout counters, likely due to its popularity and the potential for theft.
Touchland hand sanitizer refills generally cost around $10, but the $20 price tag for the Disney collaboration includes the Mickey Mouse case. The black Mist Case is also available for purchase separately, but the Mickey Mouse-themed bottle is not. Guests looking for a non-Disney version of the Wild Watermelon scent can find it through Touchland and other retailers.

Currently, the Special-Edition Disney & Touchland Set is available in the World of Disney store at Disney Springs. It is unknown whether the collaboration will eventually be sold at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
