Orlando, Florida, is a gorgeous city that is known worldwide for its proximity to some of the world’s best theme parks. Just down the road from downtown Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort compete with each other constantly in an effort to be crowned the best theme park. While both have massive followings, it is clear that Walt Disney World is still coming out on top in terms of visitors.
However, one of the most important opinions is that of the locals in the area. When polled, the city of Orlando had a clear winner for the title of “the best theme park.”

Who Comes out in the Lead?
At Walt Disney World Resort, there are so many rides and attractions that Guests have fallen in love with over the years. Whether it’s Disney classics like the Jungle Cruise or updated speed coasters like Tron: Lightcycle/Run, there is something that will please every Guest.
While many people might assume that Orlandoans would select a more classic and historic Disney ride, that ended up not being the case for this year’s polling. According to Orlando Weekly’s Best in Orlando 2023 list, fans loved Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind the best. This ride, which is located in EPCOT, is an incredible roller coaster set to iconic 80’s tunes.
Universal Is Hot on Disney’s Tail…
While Disney fans will be happy to know that they were able to secure the #1 spot, they should be aware that Universal is trailing close behind. This year, the public voted Universal Orlando as the host of the second and third-best attractions.
In second place is the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, and in third place is Hargrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Universal sinching 2/3 of the top spots is truly a huge achievement.
Even more shocking is the fact that Univeral Islands of Adventure was voted as the best theme park. While this theme park is absolutely incredible, many fans would have assumed that this title would have gone to a Disney Park.
