On August 25, some Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations will open at both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Disneyland has one Boutique location — in Disneyland Park — that has been closed since the Parks shut down because of the pandemic. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will open at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. The locations at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney Springs will remain closed, but Disney has promised they will reopen later.
Prior to their pandemic shutdowns, the talented Cast Members who worked at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were known as “Fairy Godmothers in Training”. Disney has changed up the wording on both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World websites to reflect more gender-neutral titles. Instead of being called “Fairy Godmothers in Training”, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Cast Members will now be known as “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice”. The change was made to encourage male Cast Members to apply to work at the boutique.
Here is more information — with the new wording — on Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique from the Disneyland Resort website:
Where Fairy Tales Come True
With the wave of a wand, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers magical makeovers for royalty-in-training ages 3 to 12. Watch as your young majesty or knight takes a seat in a lavish salon throne and enjoys pampering perfection, courtesy of their very own Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice.
Children get to choose a special hairstyle and then add makeup, nail color and accessories—and even a Disney Princess (or knight) costume.
Best of all, you’ll get a front-row seat as your belle prepares for the ball—or your knight prepares to defend the castle. Share their joy as they get a truly resplendent royal treatment!
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is currently offering traditional princess makeovers, as well as a knight package for those who wish to become knights. However, Disney has shared that new “hero and heroine” options will be coming to the Disney Parks sometime in the near future. We don’t know exactly who the heroes will be, but Disney also owns the rights to a number of Marvel and Star Wars characters, so it’s possible we could see some classic characters from those franchises making their way to the boutiques.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort will open on August 25. Reservations for each location will open in early August. It is important to note that a reservation to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will not get you into either Disneyland Park or the Magic Kingdom. A valid theme park ticket and theme park reservation are still required.
