“Basic” and “Insulting”; Disney Misses the Mark on Latest WDW Remodel

What are they thinking?

If there is one thing we know about the Walt Disney Company, it is that they love their anniversary celebrations. The last couple of years have marked some very important landmarks for the company, and the Parks have gone under renovations to celebrate the occasions. Of all the many Park and Disney anniversaries, there are two that are the most important.

Since October 1, 2021, Walt Disney World Resort has been celebrating its 50th anniversary. The celebration has just concluded on March 31, 2023. Now, Walt Disney World is preparing for its next major celebration: Disney 100. This year, the Walt Disney Company is celebrating a century of magic-making. Disneyland Resort is already celebrating this occasion, but Walt Disney World is just beginning to set up decorations. Guests visiting the Parks were given a first look at what Disney 100 will look like at Walt Disney World, and the overwhelming consensus is that it doesn’t look great.

Disney Decorations Are an Eyesore

Walt Disney World Resort is currently switching over from one anniversary to another. Disney has been slightly secretive about all of their plans for the Disney100 celebration, but so far it does not seem to be as elaborate and thought out as Disneylands celebration is. Fans have been waiting to see what the Parks makeover will look like, and yesterday they got a significant new addition to Magic Kingdom Park.

Unfortunately, the new Disney 100 decor leaves much to be desired. Fans entering the Park yesterday were met with a giant, platinum “100” statue. The new statue looks minimalist and stands out from the rest of the Parks vibe. Fans immediately voiced their disappointment with the new decor.

Comments on the post from Disney Parks read;

“A sign that says “100” is an “exciting offering”? Wowww…”

“It’s so…bland”

“That sign clashes with the entrance so much…ugh”

“Just love it when a whimsical place goes full minimalist. Matches perfectly.”

It is clear that Disney is missing the mark on their new decorations so far. Hopefully, better decorations are going to be coming to the Parks soon.
