Police Respond to Daytime Theft at Budget-Friendly Disney World Hotel

A grand theft call at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort on Monday afternoon brought law enforcement to one of Walt Disney World Resort‘s most popular Value hotels during peak visiting hours. However, the specifics of what happened remain tightly under wraps.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 12:22 p.m. on August 3, classifying the incident at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort as grand theft. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime logged the response on X (formerly known as Twitter):

The Google Maps pin attached to the alert reflects the generalized address used to track calls at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort rather than the confirmed location of the theft on the property. What was stolen, who it was stolen from, and whether the target was a guest, a cast member, or the resort itself haven’t been established.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed whether deputies made any arrests following the response, and Walt Disney World Resort has not commented on the incident. Further details may surface if a police report is filed or criminal charges are pursued.

No Disruption to the Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is operating normally following Monday’s grand theft call. Bus and Disney Skyliner transportation to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and Disney Springs continues to run on its regular schedule.
