A months-long construction project at the Mexico Pavilion in the EPCOT World Showcase has taken a turn, creating real problems for Walt Disney World Resort guests trying to get in and out of one of the park’s most popular stops.
Both Left-Side Entrances Are Now Closed

The far-left entrance to the Mexico World Showcase Pavilion pyramid has been closed for several months, with scaffolding on that side of the building and interior signage pointing EPCOT guests toward other exits. The project appeared manageable at first: a routine infrastructure fix with minimal guest impact. That changed on April 28.
WDWNT reported that the front-left entrance to the pyramid is now also roped off, blocked on both the exterior and interior. With both left-side access points out of service, every guest entering or exiting the pyramid is funneled through the single right-side opening. A photo shared by the outlet clearly shows the foot traffic consolidation in action: crowds packed into one side of the structure while the left entrance sits idle behind barriers.
Why It’s Causing Problems

The Mexico World Showcase Pavilion pyramid houses a lot. Inside, guests can browse merchandise, board the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, and dine at the Table-Service San Angel Inn Restaurante — all of which are continuing to operate normally. The volume of guests cycling in and out of those destinations through a single doorway is creating a bottleneck that makes an already-busy World Showcase corridor even harder to navigate.
Crews working on the left exterior of the pyramid appear to be installing scaffolding and touching up thematic details on the structure’s exterior. Walt Disney World Resort has not announced what the full project involves, when it began, or when the closed entrances will reopen.
