What looked like a disturbing scene at an Ohio travel stop on Sunday night turned out to be nothing of the kind. A worker from Cedar Point had left a shift still wearing fake blood from their haunted house costume, and police quickly confirmed no one was hurt.
The Call at Love’s Travel Stop

Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on October 25, an off-duty law enforcement officer reached out to Milan, Ohio, police about a person “covered in blood” climbing into a vehicle at the 24-hour Love’s Travel Stop on U.S. Route 250. The officer asked on-duty police for assistance, a reasonable step given what the scene appeared to show.
The all-clear came within two minutes. The officer canceled the request after the subject was “determined to be Cedar Point haunted house employee after work.” The scanner report concluded with “No issues.”

The employee was a scare actor from the Six Flags-owned theme park, still wearing the fake blood from their costume. The exchange later circulated among the Cedar Point fan community on Reddit:
“Oops, my mistake. You have a good evening!”

A Familiar Halloween Mix-Up

Commenters said the confusion isn’t unheard of during the Halloween season at Cedar Point. User u/bengenj recounted a similar encounter:
“Had a buddy pulled over by Mason Police and they were confused because he was a werewolf and hadn’t completely removed his extra stuff.”
