Universal Orlando Resort is preparing to retire another longtime attraction, bringing an end to an experience that has entertained guests for more than three decades.
Since opening in 1990, Universal Studios Florida has changed dramatically. Several original attractions have disappeared, entire sections of the park have been transformed, and newer experiences have taken the place of longtime favorites.

However, a few attractions have managed to survive those changes.
Now, one of those remaining experiences is officially preparing to close permanently, giving guests only a few weeks to enjoy it before it disappears from Universal Studios Florida’s entertainment lineup.
Animal Actors on Location! Will Close Permanently November 3
Universal Orlando has confirmed that Animal Actors on Location! will permanently close on November 3, 2026.
The attraction’s final performances will take place on Monday, November 2, ending a run that stretches back to Universal Studios Florida’s opening year.
Unlike Universal’s major roller coasters and motion simulators, Animal Actors offers a traditional live entertainment experience featuring trained animals.

Throughout the show, dogs, cats, birds, and other animal performers demonstrate various behaviors while trainers explain how animals participate in movies and television productions.
The experience has entertained generations of visitors, particularly families looking for something different from Universal’s more intense attractions.
Animal Actors also has connections to Universal Studios Hollywood, where a similar animal performance show debuted during the 1970s.
That filmmaking connection made the attraction a natural fit for Universal Studios Florida when the park first opened.
At the time, Universal placed considerable emphasis on bringing guests behind the scenes of Hollywood productions.
Although the park has gradually shifted toward immersive movie-themed attractions, Animal Actors continued operating for decades.
Unfortunately, that lengthy run is almost over.
Universal has not publicly explained why it is closing the show or announced what will eventually replace it.
Another Piece of Universal Studios Florida History Disappears
The retirement of Animal Actors continues a familiar trend at Universal Studios Florida.
Over the years, the park has permanently removed several attractions that helped establish its original identity.
Kongfrontation closed in 2002, ending the enormous King Kong’s reign over Universal’s New York-themed streets.

Back to the Future: The Ride followed in 2007, eventually making way for The Simpsons Ride.
Perhaps one of the most memorable departures came in 2012, when Universal permanently closed JAWS to make room for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Other retired experiences include Twister…Ride It Out, Earthquake: The Big One, Terminator 2: 3-D, and Shrek 4-D.
While Universal has introduced successful replacements, these closures have gradually eliminated much of the park’s original entertainment lineup.
Animal Actors will soon join that growing collection of retired attractions.
Its departure also means E.T. Adventure will remain an especially important connection to Universal Studios Florida’s opening-day history.

The classic dark ride has continued operating since 1990, even as neighboring attractions have undergone major transformations.
For longtime Universal fans, losing Animal Actors represents another reminder of how different the park has become.
Universal Orlando Continues Making Major Changes
Animal Actors is closing during a period of significant development throughout Universal Orlando Resort.
Universal Studios Florida is preparing to introduce Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new roller coaster expected to open in 2027.
Meanwhile, Islands of Adventure is undergoing changes of its own.
The Lost Continent has experienced several permanent closures, including the removal of Poseidon’s Fury and other longtime locations.
Universal has not announced whether the Animal Actors theater will become part of another major development.

For now, visitors hoping to experience the show one final time should check the park’s entertainment schedule before arriving.
November 2 will mark the final day of performances, bringing another chapter of Universal Studios Florida history to a close.
And while the park continues introducing new experiences, guests who remember its earliest years will soon have one fewer original attraction to revisit.
