Popular Disney Character Warehouse Outlet Store in Orlando Posts Closure Notice
A notice posted this week has confirmed what bargain shoppers feared: the original Disney’s Character Warehouse at the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets is on its way out. The good news is that the store isn’t disappearing. It’s moving, and the signs say that it’s happening “soon.”
What the Notice Says
Disney’s Character Warehouse is the outlet where fans hunt for official Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line merchandise at deeply reduced prices. Its current storefront sits between the Under Armour outlet and the doorway to the mall’s indoor food court, and lines there have become a familiar sight.
Social media has pushed the crowds even higher by introducing more vacationers to the store. Resellers have also taken notice. Many of them snap up merchandise to ship, at an extra cost, to buyers outside Central Florida.
Signs of a Bigger Home
According to WDWNT, Disney’s Character Warehouse signage has appeared on another storefront in the same outlet center. The space faces a standalone Starbucks kiosk and the Nike Factory Store. It’s noticeably larger than the current shop, sits in an anchor position at the end of a strip of stores, and offers direct access to a parking lot. A single Timberland sign is still visible on the parking lot side of the building.
The new signs read “Disney’s Character Warehouse” and “Coming Soon,” alongside sketches of Disney characters. The artwork features Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, Lady and the Tramp, Pongo, Aurora, the Evil Queen, Dumbo, Snow White, and the fairies from Sleeping Beauty (1959): Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Neither the closing date for the old location nor the opening date for the new one has been announced.
Other Locations
The second Orlando-area Disney’s Character Warehouse store, at the Orlando International Premium Outlets near Universal Orlando Resort, hasn’t announced a move.
The brand is growing elsewhere in Florida, too. This summer, Tampa Premium Outlets revealed that a new Disney’s Character Warehouse is on the way, with “coming soon” signage and character sketches of its own. The announcement read:
A little magic is on the way! ✨
Disney Character Warehouse is coming to Tampa Premium Outlets! 🏰🧚♀️
