Disney World Guests Warned About Booking Their 2027 Vacations Too Early

Booking a Walt Disney World vacation early usually feels like the smart move. You lock in your dates, start watching airfare, and have plenty of time to figure out dining and park plans.

But 2027 could be different.

Disney has so much scheduled to debut throughout the year that guests booking the first few months of 2027 could find themselves arriving just a little too soon. For families who only visit every few years, that could lead to a difficult decision: keep the vacation you’ve already planned or push it back and experience considerably more.

Early 2027 Guests Could Miss Some Major Additions

The biggest issue involves two major projects at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Tropical Americas, also known as Pueblo Esperanza, is scheduled to open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027. The new land will include Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos.

That’s a significant expansion for a park that has spent years preparing for its next major chapter.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Monstropolis is also scheduled to begin opening in 2027. The new Monsters, Inc.(2001) area will eventually feature Disney’s first suspended coaster, although the land is expected to debut in phases.

That makes choosing dates even more complicated. Guests could postpone their vacations only to discover that part of Monstropolis still isn’t available.

There’s Another Reason to Wait

Magic Kingdom adds another wrinkle.

Carousel of Progress closed in July 2026 for a major transformation and is scheduled to reopen in late spring 2027. The updated attraction will include a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic in its pre-show along with extensively reworked scenes.

That means a trip during the first few months of 2027 could potentially happen before Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, and the revamped Carousel of Progress are available.

For a family spending thousands of dollars on a once-every-few-years vacation, waiting several months could suddenly make sense.

Booking Early Still Has Its Advantages

There is a catch.

Disney has released discounts covering portions of early 2027, including savings of up to 25% on select resort stays between January 3 and April 29. Some qualifying room-and-ticket packages also offer substantial savings.

Early visitors can also experience the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts from January 15 through March 1, followed by the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival beginning March 10.

So, booking early isn’t necessarily a mistake.

Frequent visitors may happily take the savings and return later for the new attractions. But families planning one major 2027 vacation have a tougher decision.

Disney World will look considerably different as 2027 progresses, and booking too early could mean watching some of the year’s biggest additions open shortly after you return home.

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
