Disney Reveals Progress on Theme Park Ride Scheduled To Open in Summer 2027
Fresh photos are giving guests their first real look at the construction progress on Crush’s Coaster, the Finding Nemo (2003)-inspired attraction that closed for an extensive refurbishment earlier this month and isn’t expected to reopen until summer 2027.
Closure Of An Attraction Found Nowhere Else
Guests had their last opportunity to ride Crush’s Coaster on September 6, 2026, just before the scheduled closure took effect the next day. Disney had announced earlier this year that the ride would shut down for refurbishment on September 7, with a planned return sometime during summer 2027.
The ride holds a rare distinction among Disney’s global attractions, as it exists solely at Disney Adventure World, formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park. No other Disney park — including Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort — has ever recreated Crush’s Coaster.
When the closure began on September 7, guests found the Worlds of Pixar attraction completely surrounded by construction walls, several of which were decorated with submarine-style windows featuring Finding Nemo character artwork. Bilingual signage on the barriers read:
“This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”
Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t revealed specific details about the planned changes to the ride or whether guests should expect a noticeably different experience once it reopens. However, a new set of photos has offered a glimpse into how construction is progressing.
Construction Crews Caught in Action
X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP shared photos on September 28 documenting cast members actively working on the ride’s exterior, posting:

While the interior of the ride remains hidden from view, the photos show multiple cast members working from construction lifts positioned around the Finding Nemo-themed exterior.
Disneyland Paris Resort has yet to announce a precise reopening date, though Crush’s Coaster remains on schedule to return to Worlds of Pixar within Disney Adventure World sometime in summer 2027.
