Halloween Horror Nights guests now have another expense to consider if they want to experience one of Universal Studios Hollywood’s newest attractions.
Universal Studios Hollywood has introduced a $19.95 add-on that gives Halloween Horror Nights guests access to Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift during a limited three-hour window. Guests who purchase the upgrade can experience the new coaster between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
There is a catch that guests need to know before purchasing it.
The add-on does not include admission to Halloween Horror Nights. Guests must already have a ticket for Halloween Horror Nights on the same date. The $19.95 purchase also doesn’t include regular daytime admission to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Essentially, Universal is giving Halloween Horror Nights visitors the opportunity to add Hollywood Drift to their evening for about another $20 per person.
Hollywood Drift Arrives Just in Time for Halloween Horror Nights
The timing makes this new option particularly interesting.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift officially opened on September 16, 2026, after previously operating through a soft-opening period that began in July.
That means the coaster is still extremely new as Halloween Horror Nights continues.
Guests traveling to Universal Studios Hollywood for the Halloween event may not have experienced Hollywood Drift yet. Instead of purchasing daytime admission or planning another park day, they can now add the coaster to their Halloween Horror Nights visit.
For some people, that could make the $19.95 charge worthwhile.
The decision becomes more complicated for larger groups.
A couple would pay $39.90 for two add-ons, while a family of four would spend $79.80. That’s all in addition to the Halloween Horror Nights tickets they already need.

Time matters during Halloween Horror Nights, too.
The event gives visitors a limited number of hours to experience haunted houses and other seasonal offerings. Adding a roller coaster into the schedule means taking some of that time away from Halloween experiences.
Hollywood Drift will remain at Universal Studios Hollywood after Halloween Horror Nights ends. The event’s seasonal experiences won’t.
That could make the decision easy for frequent Universal visitors. They can concentrate on Halloween Horror Nights and save the coaster for another day.
For someone taking a rare trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, however, the add-on could be much more attractive. It creates an opportunity to experience the new coaster without adding another full theme park day to the vacation.
The 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. window also means guests will have to plan ahead. Anyone purchasing the upgrade can’t simply wait until the end of Halloween Horror Nights to ride.
