Walt Disney World has revealed another piece of its 2027 calendar, and it may disappoint guests hoping regular theme park hours would finally start getting longer again.
Disney After Hours is returning to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT in 2027, offering three additional hours inside the parks after they close to regular guests.
For After Hours fans, that’s welcome news. For everyone hoping Disney would simply keep its theme parks open later with standard admission, the announcement points in a different direction.
Disney’s 2027 Schedule Continues a Familiar Pattern
Disney World hasn’t announced regular operating hours for all of 2027, and hours will naturally vary throughout the year.
However, After Hours gives us a useful look at the nighttime schedule Disney is building.
At Magic Kingdom, After Hours begins at 10 p.m. and continues until 1 a.m. The separately ticketed event costs between $189 and $209 before tax.
That’s significant because Magic Kingdom has frequently closed around 10 p.m. in recent years.
It wasn’t always that way.
Longtime visitors may remember Magic Kingdom regularly operating until 11 p.m. or midnight, especially during busier stretches of the year. While 11 p.m. closings still happen, those extremely late regular nights aren’t nearly as common as they once were.
Hollywood Studios and EPCOT have followed a similar pattern.
After Hours at both parks generally begins at 9:30 p.m. in 2027 and continues until 12:30 a.m. Those event times line up closely with the 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. regular closing times guests frequently encounter.
Staying at Disney World Past Midnight Comes at a Price
Disney After Hours does offer something different from simply extending regular operating hours.
Attendance is limited, giving guests the chance to experience major attractions with smaller crowds. The attraction lineups include some of Disney World’s biggest rides, from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
That’s exactly why some guests are willing to pay for it.
However, Disney’s continued investment in After Hours also makes it increasingly difficult to envision a return to routine midnight closings with regular admission.
There will be exceptions. Disney can extend operating hours during busy periods, and nothing prevents the company from scheduling later closings on select nights.
But the overall direction heading into 2027 appears familiar.
Expect EPCOT and Hollywood Studios to continue hovering around 9 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. on many nights. Magic Kingdom will likely continue seeing plenty of 10 p.m. closings, with later nights mixed in.
Guests can still stay inside Disney World’s parks well past midnight in 2027.
They may just have to pay extra to do it.
