Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind usually comes with one big musical question: Which song are you going to get?
For anyone visiting EPCOT today, September 21, 2026, there is no mystery.
Disney is once again giving “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire complete control of Cosmic Rewind’s soundtrack for the day. Instead of randomly selecting from the attraction’s normal six-song lineup, every ride today will feature the same track.
It’s a fun tradition that has become closely connected to September 21 at EPCOT. But the soundtrack isn’t the only thing that’s different today.
Guests inside the park are also reporting that Disney is bypassing the Cosmic Rewind preshow, creating an unusual version of the experience for anyone riding today.
Cosmic Rewind’s Soundtrack Is Different Today
Normally, Cosmic Rewind can feel a little different every time you ride it.
The attraction has six possible songs: “September,” “Disco Inferno,” “Conga,” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “I Ran (So Far Away),” and “One Way or Another.”
Guests don’t choose their song.
Instead, one is randomly selected, which has led plenty of Disney fans to ride repeatedly while trying to experience all six.
That’s not going to happen today.
Every ride on September 21 is set to feature “September.”
Disney has done the same thing for the last three years, turning the date referenced in the famous Earth, Wind & Fire song into an unofficial annual celebration at EPCOT.
If “September” is the Cosmic Rewind soundtrack you’ve spent multiple vacations trying to get, today is your day.
The Preshow Is Being Bypassed
There’s another change guests should know about before getting in line.

Cosmic Rewind’s preshow normally plays an important role in establishing the attraction’s story before guests reach the coaster itself. Frequent riders probably know exactly what’s happening without seeing it, but first-time visitors could experience something different from what guests normally encounter.
The wording of the post also points specifically to September 21, so there’s no indication from the provided material that the preshow change is permanent.
For today, though, visitors should be prepared for an abbreviated trip through the attraction before boarding.
Disney Is Making a Day Out of September 21
The soundtrack isn’t the only special offering connected to today’s celebration.
Disney is also offering a new beverage for September 21, and guests have an opportunity to meet Star-Lord.
Together, those additions make the day feel more like a small Cosmic Rewind celebration rather than simply a soundtrack change.
Of course, the music will probably remain the biggest draw.
Some Cosmic Rewind fans have ridden the coaster many times without getting their preferred track. The random soundtrack means there’s never a guarantee that you’ll hear the song you want.
Today is the exception.
