EPCOT has no shortage of festivals throughout the year, but fans have long had one complaint about one of the park’s most popular events: it ends far too quickly.
Disney is finally doing something about it.
After nine years of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, Disney is extending the event in 2027. Guests will have an additional week to experience the food, artwork, entertainment, and activities that have made the festival a winter favorite.
For anyone who has struggled to squeeze a Disney World trip into the festival’s limited schedule, this is welcome news.
Festival of the Arts Gets Longer in 2027
Disney has confirmed that the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run from January 15 through March 1, 2027.
The new schedule adds an extra week to the festival.
That might seem small compared to some of Disney’s massive park projects, but Festival of the Arts has traditionally been offered for only a few weeks. Seven additional days can make a real difference for guests planning winter vacations.
Festival of the Arts debuted at EPCOT in 2017 and has developed its own identity among the park’s seasonal events.
Rather than focusing primarily on food or seasonal decorations, the festival celebrates visual, performing, and culinary arts.
Guests can find food studios throughout World Showcase, watch chalk artists create artwork, pose inside photo opportunities inspired by famous pieces, and participate in the festival’s paint-by-number mural.
The Figment scavenger hunt and special festival merchandise are also part of the experience.
Disney has also confirmed that the Lorcana Collection Quest will return in 2027.
EPCOT’s Festival Calendar Remains Packed
The extension won’t push the next EPCOT festival too far into the year.
Festival of the Arts concludes March 1, and the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival begins just over a week later.
Disney has announced that Flower & Garden will run from March 10 through May 31, 2027.
That means EPCOT will move quickly from artwork and culinary creations into its springtime topiaries, fresh flavors, and live entertainment.
Festival of the Arts remains one of EPCOT’s shorter seasonal celebrations, but Disney is finally giving fans more time to enjoy it.
After nine years, that extra week feels like a change that was overdue.
