The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a report of “grand theft” at 2:30 p.m. on September 2, tied to Walt Disney World Resort‘s third theme park. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the call log publicly on X (formerly Twitter), posting:

A Google Maps screenshot attached to the post marks a spot along a roadway bordering the park, though that location likely isn’t where the incident occurred. Calls involving Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks, hotels, and Disney Springs are often logged under general addresses rather than the exact site associated with the report.

Under Florida law, grand theft applies to stolen property valued at $750 or more. It’s currently unknown whether the incident involved a Disney cast member, a guest in a merchandise location, or occurred elsewhere in the park.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has commented on the incident as of publication. Disney typically remains silent on law enforcement matters that occur on its property, though additional details may emerge if a formal police report is filed or charges are brought.

Despite the reported theft, Disney’s Hollywood Studios appears to be running normally, and guests visiting the park shouldn’t expect any changes to their plans.

As a general practice, guests who come across law enforcement or security activity anywhere at the Central Florida Disney parks, hotels, or Disney Springs should avoid the affected area and follow any instructions from authorities. These procedures are designed to protect guest safety while respecting the privacy of those involved.
