Nearly 16 Years After ‘Jonas L.A.’, the Jonas Brothers Are Getting a New Disney+ Show
It’s been a long time since the Jonas Brothers had their own show on Disney.
Nearly 16 years after Jonas L.A. aired its final episode, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas are heading back to Disney with a new series. This one, however, will look very different from the Disney Channel show fans remember.
Disney has reached a licensing agreement with iHeartMedia that will bring the Jonas Brothers’ video podcast, Hey Jonas!, to Disney+ and Hulu beginning August 14. The show is part of a larger deal that brings six iHeartMedia podcasts to Disney’s streaming platforms.
It’s Been Nearly 16 Years Since Jonas L.A.
The Jonas Brothers became a major part of the Disney Channel lineup during the late 2000s.
Their own television series, JONAS, premiered in May 2009, with Kevin, Joe, and Nick playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
Disney changed things considerably for the second season. The series moved its setting to Los Angeles and became Jonas L.A., but the new direction didn’t lead to a third season.
The final episode premiered on October 3, 2010.
Now, nearly 16 years later, the brothers are getting another show on a Disney platform.
Don’t expect a revival, though.
Hey Jonas! is the official Jonas Brothers podcast, with Kevin, Joe, and Nick hosting conversations rather than playing characters. The show’s description promises a more personal side of the brothers, with deeper discussions and the kind of chemistry that comes from spending their lives together.
Disney Has Perfect Timing for Their Return
Disney isn’t simply dropping Hey Jonas! onto Disney+ on a random date.
The video podcast will debut on Disney+ and Hulu on August 14, the same day Camp Rock 3 (2026) premieres on Disney+.
The first episode will focus on Camp Rock 3 (2026), bringing the brothers’ Disney past and present together. Additional episodes will feature Kevin, Joe, and Nick appearing live at Disney’s D23 event during the same weekend.
It’s hard to imagine a more fitting way to bring them back.
Disney+ Is Expanding Beyond Traditional Shows
The agreement goes beyond Hey Jonas!.
Disney’s iHeartMedia deal also includes Pod Meets World for Disney+, along with several podcasts coming to Hulu. The company is clearly interested in making video podcasts a bigger piece of its streaming strategy.
For longtime Disney Channel fans, though, the Jonas Brothers are easily one of the most nostalgic names involved.
No, JONAS isn’t suddenly getting another season, and Jonas L.A. isn’t being revived.
But after nearly 16 years without their own Disney show, Kevin, Joe, and Nick are officially back together on a Disney platform.
This time, they won’t need fictional characters to do it.
