Disney Has Already Confirmed the Fate of EPCOT’s New Soarin’ Experience

One of EPCOT’s newest experiences has only been operating for a few months, but Disney has already told us something important about its future.

Soarin’ Across America isn’t here to stay permanently.

The harder question is how long Disney intends to keep it around.

As summer begins winding down at Walt Disney World, guests planning fall, winter, and even 2027 vacations don’t have a firm answer.

Soarin’ Changed at EPCOT in May

EPCOT guests took their first flights aboard Soarin’ Across America on May 26, 2026.

Rather than continuing the familiar trip around the globe offered by Soarin’ Around the World, Disney introduced a new film centered on destinations throughout the United States.

Disney California Adventure received the experience a little later, with Soarin’ Across America debuting there on July 2.

The timing wasn’t random.

Disney introduced the film in connection with America’s 250th anniversary and promoted the attraction as a limited-time offering.

That wording tells us where the attraction is ultimately headed.

Eventually, Soarin’ Across America will end its current run.

Disney Hasn’t Said When It Ends

Here’s where things get complicated for guests trying to plan ahead.

As of August 11, Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date at either EPCOT or Disney California Adventure.

The attraction currently remains listed without a scheduled final operating day.

Considering Disney created an entirely new Soarin’ film for the celebration, there’s reason to believe the company could continue showing it into 2027. Giving the experience a longer run would allow considerably more guests to see it.

But Disney hasn’t confirmed that timeline.

Until an announcement arrives, there’s no guarantee Soarin’ Across America will remain available for any particular 2027 vacation.

EPCOT Will Eventually Change Again

The end of Soarin’ Across America doesn’t necessarily mean Disney will need to make a major change to the attraction itself.

Disney has switched between Soarin’ films before.

Soarin’ Around the World became EPCOT’s primary version in 2016, but the park temporarily restored Soarin’ Over California in 2023. Disney California Adventure has also brought the original film back for limited runs.

That gives Disney several possibilities once the current experience concludes.

Soarin’ Around the World could return, another existing film could take its place, or Disney could find additional uses for Soarin’ Across America later.

Right now, none of those possibilities has been confirmed.

Soarin’ Across America remains open at EPCOT with no announced closing date. But Disney has already told guests not to expect this version to remain forever.

The only missing piece is when its final flight will happen.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
