A New Look for Disney California Adventure Park: Beginning August 5
Guests arriving at Disney California Adventure Park on Wednesday morning walked into a park that had been transformed overnight. The culprit behind the change is one of Disneyland Resort’s most popular seasonal events.
Oogie Boogie Takes Over

On Wednesday, WDWNT reported that Disneyland Resort had installed Oogie Boogie Bash and Halloween decorations throughout Disney California Adventure Park overnight, more than two weeks ahead of the after-hours event’s August 18 opening night.
The most striking addition is immediately visible from outside the park: the iconic Oogie Boogie sign above the Disney California Adventure Park entrance. The installation features the notorious villain from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) positioned in front of a full moon, surrounded by crawling tree branches and jack-o-lanterns. Guests exiting the park see the reverse side of the sign, where Oogie Boogie’s face looms as a silhouette against the same full moon backdrop.

Inside the park, Halloween details have been woven into the environment as well. Black bats now appear to be flying out of the tower at the top of Carthay Circle Restaurant.
What’s Coming to Disney California Adventure Park on August 18
The decorations are setting the stage for Oogie Boogie Bash, which takes over Disney California Adventure Park on select nights from August 18 through October 31, 2026. Several dates are already sold out — all but one Sunday and Halloween night among them — though opening night and most weekday events through August, September, and October remain available.

Ticketholders get limited-capacity access to the park along with Disney Villains Grove, trick-or-treat trails, Halloween-themed attraction overlays, rare and costumed character meet-and-greets, and exclusive entertainment offerings.
One notable absence this year: the Frightfully Fun Parade has been sidelined by ongoing construction at Disney California Adventure Park. Disneyland Resort is replacing it with a brand-new Haunted Mansion-themed street party, making its Oogie Boogie Bash debut in 2026.
